6' Cascading Christmas Garland 4.4 5 199 208
Just Get This Garland! Truly gorgeous. Takes some time and spread out as directed and this is as gorgeous and full as the photo. I do not believe there are two doubled in the photo because I just bought one and it looks just like that. I have seen nothing like this at the stores or in any other catalog. I think it has just the right amount of lights. The cascade effect is just the perfect touch and put this right on the top of my list. I can't wait to decorate this year with all my special, unique items from Grandin Road. I may have to buy more of these. There are numerous places to put this all around your Home. Arch ways, staircases, above windows, on top of your China Cabinet, it will just look festive anywhere you can think of. A # 1 Must Have for sure. The large Santa Boots are a must also. October 17, 2014
Good Christmas fluff The cascading garland is just right for our fireplace mantle. It is quality made, all the lights worked the first time and the cascading garlands add just the right amount of fullness to make this mantle piece special. We added the two white squirrels for the perfect bit of whimsy. November 14, 2014
very pretty with a few additions... I received this cascading garland already and just put it up today! With a few additions like some roses and a few baby owls and sticks it looks fabulous... Worth the money! November 15, 2014
Classy looking This is a beautiful piece for the mantel however I wish it was about 2 fee longer but I love how it makes my fireplace the focal point of the room. Thanks November 12, 2014
Kind of wimpy compared to photo I was so thrilled when I found this & wasted no time ordering it. Now that it's here my excitement has worn off. The portion that rests directly on the mantle is nice & full. However the cascades are NO WHERE NEAR as lush as the photo depicts; they're rather skimpy in comparison. The cascade in the very center (focal point) has NO lights on it at all. NOT ONE. Also two of the cascades on either end are too short; they barely 'cascade' at all...and my mantle is only 7" deep!!! Those two hang down maybe 3-4 inches; they look kind of like someone clipped them off accidently. It's still better than what I've done in the past, but for a product having a Martha Stewart tag hanging on it (didn't realize it was a MS item), I would expect more. Too bad we can't upload photos with our reviews. It does add a slightly upscale/custom look, but I'm going to have to add in a few things to fluff it up. Glad Michael's is having a half-off sale!!! December 12, 2011
It looks awesome! Loads of compliments I read ALL the reviews before I purchased, but figured for the sale price I would take my chances. So, garland arrives and I take it out of the box and it definitely looks flattened from shipping, but I'm used to having to fluff up my Christmas wreaths after they have been in storage so I'm not deterred. I put on a Christmas special, lay the garland out on my living room floor like directions paper says to do, and I get busy fluffing, section by section. An hour later, I'm done and garland looks beautiful. I mount on mantle easily by myself. I plug it in and and have no issues with the spacing of lights, they too look great. A few things to consider: 1) May be too bulky for a smaller mantle. 2) Product may look scraggly and cheap until you fully separate the branches and fluff. Many of the longer sections are folded in half from shipping. Major difference after some TLC 3) I have nails in my mantle to hold up the stockings, they helped with holding up the garland since my mantle was too wide for the holders on the ends to work December 13, 2013
Like how it looks I wanted something for my fireplace mantel. This looked great in the catalog and I will admit that I like how it looks now that it's up, BUT...there were absolutely no instructions on how to hang it and just one hook on each end of the garland. That was useless. I had to bend pretty much all of the garland up to a depth of about 1 1/2" to give it a "lip" that could rest on the edge of the mantel. I used "command" hooks (that can be removed) on the two ends of the mantel to bend the wires at the ends of the garland around, to hold it up. We also ended up putting a board covered with batting (to look like snow) on the mantel so that the Christmas figures I put on the mantel were raised above the depth of the garland "lip." Then we could also screw a cup hook into the front edge of that board in the middle of the mantel to help support the garland, otherwise it would dip down like a swag effect. I realize this sounds complicated.....my husband was probably peeved with how much more effort HE had to put into hanging this.....but it DOES look nice now. December 3, 2012
Very Real Looking I ordered a quantity of 4 - Cascading Christmas Garland. The garland is approximately 6' long with a metal ring at one end of the garland and a metal hook at the other. Those are there to hook together adjacent garlands or place on a nail to hang the garland. There are 2 long cascades placed about 9" from each side of the garland & 1 long one in the middle. There are shorter cascades between all long cascades. There are three different types of greenery in the garland to give it some visual interest and make it more real looking. The lights are distributed evenly on all four of the garlands I purchased. I gave this product a 4 star rating because one of my garlands had messed up cascades. But the other 3 are wonderful greenery to add to my window sills & fireplace mantel. I hang the 4th in a less prominent spot. These are a great addition to my Christmas decoration collection! Plug in - and I could better tell you how long the cord is, if I had read this before I put mine up - lol (I have mine all tucked up under the garland). Best I can remember it is about 12", give or take a little.

There is a front side, however I fluffed my garland up to fill a 8 in. Wide by 6 ft long mantle. The pictured garland does look pretty, but just like a artificial tree the more you adjust branches the bigger it gets!

The garland can be flipped which is very important since one end of the lights are female and the other end male. It can accommodate plugging into an oulet from either end.

Answer:
I think there is probably a "front side", but (a) I couldn't figure which it was, and (b) once I'd decided which way around it had to go (to make the power cord hang on the side closest to the outlet), whichever branch needed to be turned around to face the front was easily manipulated to do so. So I would think that it probably doesn't matter which way you hang it.

We appreciate your interest in this item. This garland is not meant to be attached to the mantle and does not include any hardware to do so. The item is simply placed on the mantle and is substantial enough to stay in place. Should you wish to anchor this to a cement mantle, we recommend visiting your local home-improvement store for hardware recommendations. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Answer:
Don't know if this will help, but it actually comes with metal clips (for lack of a better word) on each end, which makes it easier to attach to something. Not sure about attaching it to cement. It does bend, so I used it on a buffet but did not want to put holes in the buffet and it stays perfectly just by bending the branches.

Answer:
Not sure of the answer to your specific question - but there is a main thick wire that everything is attached to. I hung mine on my wooden mantel with command hooks. It's not really that heavy so if you can find something sermi-permanent that would stick to your cement, it should hold. Hope this helps.
