Column Planter 4.6 5 48 49
Beautiful I was thinking about purchasing this copper planter for some time. I finally decided after reading other positive reviews to go ahead and order it to put by my front door. It is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend this planter to everyone needing a beautiful eye catching piece by your front door. May 12, 2015
copper column planters these are just great! beautiful and grand in scale. I am happy with the purchase. May 11, 2015
Nice home accent As others have said, the planter is a darker color than that pictured. I took the liner and built a box of plywood and ceramic tile for a base and screwed the liner to the base, so now I have two related planters. Used the large one for a rain chain water catcher and the other "liner" planter at the front door. Easy to drill holes in the bottom of both for drainage. January 4, 2015
Perfect Gift Planters were purchased as a gift. The "smaller" size was perfect size for front porch under brass gas lanterns. Color was darker than pic on site, which was what I was hoping for. Very pleased with purchase. January 3, 2015
Copper Column Planter They look nice and are well constructed. The finish is lacquered so hopefully they will not turn green over time. I live by the water with salt in the air so time will tell if this product holds up well. I wanted a light weight planter so I can move it. Still, I put a heavy paver in the bottom to help keep them from tipping over in the wind. If you do the same, attach a cord so you can lift the paver out if necessary. April 12, 2014
cool looking/needs help Love the look of these planters. I purchased 3 tall ones to go under rain chains. The planter comes in two parts. The big tall part and a smaller planter that fits in the top. After reading your reviews, I put holes in the small part of the planter for drainage. I was happy to have had that tip. It took a drill to do it. The metal is very sturdy. The small planter isn't quite big enough to stay correctly in the top of the larger planter so in the fall when I take them apart I will wrap something around the top to thicken it so it will hold in place better. Even with the hole drilling and the not quite fitting right, plus they were pretty expensive, I would get them again. They look great. I don't have a big fancy house, but they sure look wonderful and it right in. May 28, 2014
Nice planters Nice look and perfect size for porch flanking the front door. Also like the insert - I added weight to bottom of planter as well so it wouldn't be top heavy. Not completely level and seams are obvious. November 4, 2014
Excellent quality; good price point; 1 sm. problem I've had my eye on these planters for a while and have been earmarking my Grandin Road catalogues, wanting to purchase them, but also hesitating because I wasn't sure about the quality. Then recently I saw them on my friend's porch and asked about them and found out they were the very same Grandin Road planters I had been admiring. I went right home and ordered them. They are simple and elegant, beautiful and sturdy and work perfectly with arts & craft or bungalow style architecture. My friend and I have only one issue with them: The liner, which holds the soil and plants, does not have any drainage holes. I had to go to the hardware store to have holes drilled into the bottom of each liner. GR should take care of this in future manufacturing of this product. October 19, 2012

Answer:
The Column Planter is designed as an outdoor planter. To use indoors you would need to plug the drain hole and use plastic to catch any extra water. We recommend using outdoors.

Weight

How much does the 33" column planter weight? I only ask because on our terrace it gets quite windy and we will live on a highrise. We need something a little bit steardy to avoid toppling. Any thoughts?
