Expandable Coat Rack 4.7 5 177 189
Beautiful on wall but hard to install This wall hook unit looks more like a work of art than a mere utilitarian coat hook unit. It easily adjusts to fit on a small wall space as well as a larger one and looks great either way. It is a good thing that we had a professional install it for us as the offset for the mounting bracket on one side is different than the offset on the other and the keyhole attachments are not at the same height. Without careful calculation, the unit would not have been straight once hung on the wall. April 9, 2015
VERY helpful hint on how to measure! For keyhole wall mounts, as in this rack, just use a piece of painters tape! Place the tape on the keyholes and cut it exactly where you will need to place the mounting screws. Peel the tape off the rack, stick it on the wall where you want to mount the rack and voila!! Works like a charm! No more measuring….no more "multiple holes"! Hope this helps! April 5, 2015
It serves the need Problem: New house with a tiny coat closet that only holds our stuff. Solution: The Expandable Coat Rack (purchased in white) is handling the need of where to place guest coats... other than on a bed. I like the fact it is attractive on its own, and has garnered compliments, as well as flexible to accommodate the available wall space. No difficulty in hanging, as we followed the suggestion of another reviewer, and attached the two bottom screws first, getting them level. We followed by marking the top position, then attaching there last. Doing the bottom first 'sets' the desired spacing. Otherwise, you can end up juggling the accordion action of the rack. Also, take into account the final position of the actual screw in the slot on the rack. The slot is angled, and you need to pull the wall rack down to secure the screw into the slot. Overall, not the easiest to hang, without giving it some thought. But definitely worth the price and the ultimate convenience! March 18, 2014
Very nice but... they really should have provided a paper template for hanging. The limited instructions show drilling holes for the wall anchors (no drill bit size given) and setting in the screws. That's it. It is near impossible to judge where the drill holes should be when placing it up against the wall. So you're stuck making your own template. I'd suggest using the back of wrapping paper since you need a really large sheet of paper. If you're willing to wing it a bit you could wedge crayon pieces into the mounting brackets and gently tap the rack against the wall at your desired location. However, if your crayon isn't 90 degrees perpendicular to the wall, you could be patching a few holes. It does look nice once it's hung. I'd also suggest placing thin felt pads along the back edges. The black paint marks the walls and despite our best efforts to tighten the screws fully, one corner still rattles slightly. The felt pad fixed that problem too. December 14, 2011
coat rack Decent quality , price a little on higher than I wanted to pay but overall happy with my purchase. March 6, 2015
Love it! Very well-made. Perfect for our back foyer. Impressed with the packaging. March 6, 2015
Beauty and functionality both What a great coat, hat, fanny-pack, scarf, etc. rack! A total of 13 pegs to catch it all. We reversed the hanger clips on the back and use it 'up-side down' to fit our space better - and added support at studs with two long finish nails which we located and pre-drilled once the rack was up on the wall. Cannot imagine our entry space without it. February 19, 2015
Best towel rack Exactly what I needed for the space. Using it in a guest bathroom where the grandchildren will need to hang many towels. Now there are no towels on the floor!! February 24, 2015

How small will this collapse?

I am wondering how small you can collapse this and still have a usable rack. My wall space is 22 inches wide...will this product work for a space that size? I notice the description says it will adjust indefinitely, but the listed width is 28.5 inches on the smallest side.
