Flicker Flame String Lights 4.4 5 72 75
Awesome Lights!!! I Love these lights! I purchased 2 sets (one set to have on hand for replacement bulbs) of the Flicker Flame String Lights last Autumn. I intertwined them with a leaf garland and hung it around the outside of my front door- which looked fantastic! They give off enough light that I can turn off my porch lights and still be able to easily navigate the front steps. I put these up before Halloween and took them down after Thanksgiving when I decorated for Christmas. I noticed that the description says for indoor use only, but when I purchased them it was stated as being for indoor/outdoor use. Mine held up fine and I'm pretty sure they are listed for outdoor use (I'll have to check when I take them out to decorate this year.). Just a F.Y.I.- you can purchase spare flicker flame bulbs around the holidays in some of the department stores, but unless you get them on clearance it's less expensive to just buy an extra string of lights. That way, you'll not only have the bulbs as spares but also the light string itself and the fuses. August 8, 2012
Awesome I bought and used these last year, outside for about 5 weeks. Never an issue not one burned out. I love them and can't wait to get them out this year. Well worth the low price. I own 3 sets but just can't have too many, may need to order more. You will not be disappointed and you'll be the only one in the neighborhood with them August 14, 2014
Great for Halloween Ambiance... I really love the lights, especially for their uniqueness (I have not found a similar set elsewhere). We bought these lights last year, and I swear they were listed in the outdoor category. (Even watching the video shows that they have indoor/ outdoor versatility). . The one flaw I find is that the strand does not come with even one spare bulb. Because the bulbs are glass, they are easily broken; therefore, we are buying a second strand this year just so we can have spare bulbs on hand. (I had searched for these bulbs elsewhere and to no avail). August 5, 2012
Love the lights The flicker lights give a really cool effect, but after trying them out, the lights stopped working. Trouble shooted them with another string from another source. The lights were in working order, so it must be the string itself. Tried opening the fuse box to the string and could not get it open. Used the flicker lights for another Grandin Road product purchased last year (which was working perfectly) to give another effect. The other product is the "Come closer if you dare" bags. The flickering light give an effect of actual candles. October 12, 2012
Flicker lights This is about the fifth set of these I've bought. I have a pirate bar at my camp and these lights are perfect for the night atmosphere of the bar and they're awesome. April 22, 2014
flickering lights These lights are beautiful. My first set had one broken bulb and one that did not work. I contacted Grandinroad, and they sent me a vew string. It has two replacement bulbs with it. There is no where to buy extra bulbs though. Not even through Grandinroad. So, be careful with them and be easy packing them away. I kept the box and bubble wrap that they came packaged in. I love the lights and they are very bright and orange! I only gave it four stars because there are no replacement bulbs that you can buy. October 17, 2012
Bulbs burn out quick These lights look great, BUT 6 bulbs were burnt out within a few days, very disappointing! They only come with 2 replacements so unfortunately they didn't even last until Halloween. Not worth the $. October 21, 2012
Switch on light is poor This is the second light that the switch stopped working. My first light lasted 3 weeks and they sent me a new one. This time it worked for 2 months and now it stopped working again. February 10, 2014

The overview states "indoor use only" but the video clearly shows the lights in a tree and states "indoor/outdoor versatility." Which is correct?

Answer:
I'm planning on using mine on my covered porch. I don't think they were made to withstand the elements. They are electric so you should protect them from the rain etc.

Answer:
I was wondering the same thing! It looks like previous descriptions stated that these are indoor/outdoor, but online says indoor use only. I will be using these outsite, around my front door. They are good quality, and I don't see why they couldn't be set up outside.

Answer:
If I remember correctly, last year's catalog did state indoor/ outdoor use, so I bought them for an unprotected area. I didn't have problems with anything shorting out in the rain or being destroyed by strong winds, but a lot of bulbs would burn out over the Halloween season (had 'em out 3 weeks & on a timer). The other bulbs would keep burning, though, no matter how many went bad.

Answer:
I have used them outdoors no problem (on porch). They may need a bit of protection from excessive water or wind as they are real glass bulbs and can suffer when knocked around.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. Replacement bulbs can be purchased locally at a home improvement store such as Lowes or Home Depot. The lights should be replaced with C7 size lights as the light strings are not able to support the C9 size bulb.
