36"H Freestanding Wooden Pet Gate is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 345.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freestanding Wooden Pet Gate The gate has helped me greatly in training my puppy to stay in certain areas of the house. I purchased the 20" H pet gate because my puppy will not get very big so this serves my purpose. I highly recommend this pet gate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Distressed Look Love the gate we ordered! Matches my black distressed cabinets and keeps my cat out of areas I don't want him in when I am not home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected Having two new puppies in the house this was a must. It looks great and fits in with about any decor. It is lightweight as compared to the metal ones and folds away neatly when guests come. Also easy a move aside to get by. I'm ordering a second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this gate!!! I have two rambunctious cockapoos who can leap over ANYTHING...I purchased these gates hoping that they would stay where they were supposed to be, AND that the gates would be easier for my husband and me to open and close...they are all I expected and MORE...Heavy, great construction, and they came assembled, so all I had to do was take them out of the boxes, and VOILA!!!! No more puppies where they shouldn't be! I put them in a bay position and the girls like to sit in the middle and feel like they are where they shouldn't be...I would recommend these to anyone who needs a puppy gate...they're the BEST I've found! Thank you, Grandin Road...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pet gate We took one section off and this is perfect to keep our active Brittany girls out of our bedroom. I expecially liked that it is white, as our house is "white" Thanks for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 36'' freestanding wooden pet gate The money I spent on this purchase was probably the most well- spent money ever! Our cocker spaniel had to have major reconstructive knee surgery. For four months she was extremely limited in her activities. This pet gate allowed us to keep her from climbing stairs, wandering at night, and jumping on the couch. It's very eye appealing, folds easily for storage, is easy to move around, and kept her contained when necessary. Absolutely love this product!!!

What prevents the gate from falling or being pushed over?

Asked by: Anonymous
Nothing. You place it like in the picture with the panels angled against each other. I just reviewed this and can suggest it only for small pets.

I have a 60' opening can i use the 3 panel?

My yorkie is very energetic, can he push it so he can squeeze areound the side or even jump on it and knock it over? And can a 3# puppies get thru the slats?

I have a 5 lb yorkie and I ordered a five panel for my 52" opening. A three panel would work perfectly but I need it for other areas in our home as well as this 52" opening. It is very sturdy. As far as little puppies I think that they would be able to squeeze through the slats. But my little guy cannot. And he cannot push it over it is pretty heavy. I ordered the five panel 20" gate in white....luv it.

Free standing three panel dog wood gate.

I have a 71 inch opening and am wondering if the three panel gate will be big enough or will I need the five panel gate?

Can 5-panel gate be separated into 2 gates?

I am wondering if you can separate the 5-panel gate into 2 gates - a 3-panel and 2-panel. I think this would work better for our needs. Thank you for your help.

You can remove the screws that hold the hinges to separate the panels (but might need to do a little touch up where the screws were if you can see the end).

How does the gate remain in position?

Since it's freestanding, I'm wondering how the gate remains upright and in place if an energetic dog flings himself against it!

I have 3 of these gates. Two of them have 5 panels and one has 3 panels. The gate stands on it's own with the panels slightly folded, as in the photo. Unless you can secure both ends of the gate to a wall, it will probably not hold in a dog that flings itself at the gate.
