Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Glass Dome Sans Lights I purchased the glass dome to showcase a piece of artwork that I bought on our summer vacation and am using the dome in that capacity. I highly recommend the glass dome as the base is made from a solid, high quality piece of wood-with no cracks in it-and the glass dome is fairly thick. The dome itself fits perfectly into the base. Rated 3 out of 5 by Domes are great; string lights not so much Perhaps this should be a review of the string lights, but since the domes in the pictures are supposedly using the string lights, I am placing this review with the domes. The light strands are not strong enough or stiff enough to fill the interior space of the dome. The lights merely form a pile at the bottom of the dome. We eventually wound the light strands around picture hanging wire, and that created some resistance that forced the lights into the upper parts of the domes. It would be interesting to know how Grandin Road staged the domes and lights for the photographs. November 11, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Observation You can see tape holding the lights up inside the large dome when you roll your mouse over the picture and it magnifies it. September 30, 2016

Answer:
Here are some tips I have for using micro lights with the Glass Dome with Wooden Base:
To hide the battery box, leave it loose outside of the dome and hide it behind the dome and other decorations.
To achieve a really bright lit dome, use two strands of micro lights in the larger domes. If you push the strands up inside the dome, they should spread nicely around the top of the dome all the way to the bottom. Invisible tape could also help if you wanted a more secure design with the light strands.

Answer:
I just posted a review of the domes that talked about that very problem. The pictures are deceiving since the light strands just pool on the wooden base. My wife and I ended up winding the string lights around picture hanging wire to give the light strands some resistance. It worked OK, As far as we could figure out, there is no way to hide the battery pack, so we used some garland that is not season-specific around the base of the dome and hid the battery pack under the garland.
