Nantucket Tall Tapered Planter is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nantucket Tall Planter This is a great Planter! It looks extremely high end and it very sturdy. I had a little trouble turning the base over so my plants would sit up higher. I called customer service and they were extremely helpful. I had to push it to the bottom of the planter in order to get it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love 'em Wanted to replace lower, wider urns that flanked my front door. These really give a nice vertical line and complement the white mullions in my screen door. I thought the directions and graphic for drilling the drainage hole were clear and I'm very happy so far. I am concerned about the water in the bottom "well" freezing in the winter, but if the planter buckles, you'll be the first to know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great planter I love this planter!! It is great quality and arrived in a timely manner. I love that I can flip the inner part over and it now can accommodate a plant and pot that I bought. I love that I didn't have to fill it with dirt! Grandin Road does not disappoint!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased The perfect planters. I love the look and the fact that I have the option of planting directly in the planter or just placing a 10" pot in the planters and they look great -- and finished.

So confused..

Ok so there's no drain hole.. but a self watering system to be used w/a liner? How does that drain?? Obviously this isn't rocket science but I want to make sure I understand how this works . These are on the pricey side, which I'm fine with but want to make sure they are for me!!

Because there are 2 ways to use the planter (with or without a water reservoir) the drainage holes are not pre-drilled. There should have been instructions in the shipping box with your planter showing you where to drill drainage holes depending on how you want to use the planter. I kept the liner in mine and drilled a hole at the top right corner of the lower "box" design. The instructions have illustrations to help you see where to drill. Then I filled the troughs with pebbles, the soil on top for my plants. It was really easy.

How much does the planter weigh?

I need to know if the planter is heavy enough not to blow away or over in a storm.
Asked by: Anonymous
I would suggest a layer of stones in bottom. the planter feels heavy, but I think placing plants in the top will make it "top heavy'. I put about a dozen pond stones in the bottom of my planter because the Boston Fern on top is lightweight.

Is their a drain hole?

From what I understand, I can plant my own flowers or buy a preplanted pot?
Asked by: Anonymous
It has drain holes in the removable tray insert. You do need to drill drainage holes in the exterior. The instructions include information on two different drainage options. Option 1 requires holes on the side to utilize the water trough system. Option 2 requires holes in the bottom for use as a regular planter.
