Interactive Dueling Banjo Skeletons 4.1 5 112 123
Very Disappointed They look awesome, however they stopped working after a very short time. Lots of issues, The heads getting stuck on one and the other one has no movement at all. Speaker has static. For the price, the quality really should be better. They should work through at least a couple of Halloween seasons and not just a couple of hours. July 24, 2014
Dueling Banjo Skeletons I bought two of the Dueling Banjo Skeletons in two years. The first year Dueling Banjo did not last Halloween night for Trick or Treat time before they quit playing. I bought the second one the next year as they are absolutely precious. The same thing happened. They did not last. Perhaps I should have contacted Grandinroad but I did not. July 15, 2014
Interactive Dueling Banjo Skeletons Very cute but wish they were battery operated and life size or larger than they are. We used them as props in our entry at work and were unable to completely hide the power supply cord. Despite the size and the cord issue they were stilll a hit and everyone loved them! June 13, 2014
Big hit on Halloween These guys were a gift from my mom and sister for my Western-themed Halloween display. Easy to assemble, they fit in perfectly with my saloon scene. I ran into trouble with them dying on me a few days before Halloween, too late to exchange them even if Grandinroad had more to send me (they were out of them). Called customer service and they were very understanding when I asked if they would still take them back if I tried to fix them and failed. No problem. One of the servos in the head of one of the players had gotten stuck and I was able to free it. Got me through Halloween night before it happened again and the exchange was hassle-free. Couple of notes - keep them away from small children who will try to "help" them play the banjo. Let the song play all the way through and the heads return to the "home" position before turning off the power and they are less likely to get stuck. If the same song over and over drives you nuts, turn the volume down and play banjo music through some nearby speakers - visitors were amazed at how many songs the guys knew, so they look pretty convincing. April 9, 2013
Christian These are the cutest but I ordered the first two sets from HSN and one set stopped playing way before Halloween. So they had no more so I ordered another set from Grandinroad and they played about 4 times and set them by my front door for Halloween so I could watch over them and they never played one time and the other set for my partner in business also stopped on Halloween night. So I have returned them all for credit me back. they would be great but still need some work to ensure that they really will preform. very disappointed as people came to see them and they would not play. November 4, 2013
disappointing! the skelatons dont work ordered another set same problem the floppy hat one has no sound February 20, 2014
If only the undead couldn't die My family loved the banjos skeletons. It was their favorite decoration last year. They couldn't wait to set it up again this year. We plugged them in and they were broken. The skeleton would start to turn its head and instead of moving it would just make a non-stop grinding noise. They were stored indoors over the past year and handled with gentle care. It is frustrating to buy a product that only works for one season. October 8, 2013
Great Halloween Fun! Halloween is magic and magic is just fooling the eye into thinking that what you are seeing is real. For the people complaining that the banjos are not real, they don’t have to be, like all props and magic they just have to trick the eye into thinking they are real. I have put my little banjo strummers on hay bales in a dark stage area lit with scary lighting this makes them look bigger and everyone loves them. In fact my grandsons drive me nuts playing them over and over! I have had them for several weeks and they have so far worked perfect. They have been a great addition to add to my Halloween props. Measurements

I am interested in the Dueling Skeltons, but 38 inches is awful small in heght. Is that mesurement shown of them sitting? Do they appear as a small child of 4 or 5 years old, as an adult or just as a table top chotskie? Thanks

Answer:
I use all of my (indoor) props outdoors!
How, I make battery packs that replicate the original wall wart that comes with each unit.
I'm an electronics tech, so if you are not sure about what voltage, polarity and plug to use, I would not suggest doing this as it would void your warranty. But it makes everything wireless with no extension cords. Not sure why the manufactures don't have this feature.
Some props come battery operated, with a plug in wall wort just in case.

The skeletons are activated by ekectricity. There is a plug that hooks up to one of the skeletons and there is never a need for batteries. Thats what makes these even better!

Answer:
I have never been satisfied with light activated motion sensors as the light has to shine in front of the props and when you move in front to block the light they activate.
Seems these are the same.
Most of my props are in a dark area, so I hook up PIR (passive infrared) sensors that work by heat and motion, so no light needed, of course the banjo players do not have a (try me) button or jack, so I would be voiding the warranty. But at least they will work great!

I never leave my animated decorations out at night., but I put them out for the doration of the time trick or treaters visit on Halloween. From about five to ten. If I had a front porch that was protected from the weather and thieves, I would leave out for about a week.
