Outdoor Copper Fire Pit 4.5 5 39 43
outdoor copper fire pit Very nice quality for the cost. Copper bowl is large enough to make a decent fire. Anti-rust cast aluminum scroll is very pretty and classic looking. Hoping that the base (believe made from thin steel) doesn't rust, if so, will just spray with rust-o-leum next season. Light weight so easy to clean and move around. Bought cover (water repellent) and screen. Wish came with tall screen as well to use while fire is burning, to control burning ashes that sometimes fly out (if use newspaper to start fire). Wish had a few more drain holes in bottom of bowl to drain water if rain gets in it. Recommend not placing logs against copper edge (area that is flat around top of bowl) because it will darken from the burning wood.) As expected, the bowl on the bottom inside & outside will darken from burning wood, but looks fine. Received compliments on fire pit. June 18, 2014
Simply Awesome Seriously, this is the best purchase we have ever made online. Beautiful, functional and easy to assemble. Shipping was super fast and it arrived in flawless condition. We would not hesitate to purchase from grandinroad.com again. June 4, 2014
Great fire pit! Product arrived just as pictured. Very nice looking fire pit, good size, very sturdy. We had debated about this purchase since it is a little pricier than other fire pits we were looking at, but we decided to go for it, and are glad we did. Product is of high quality, and I think worth the price. We have used it twice now and works well! May 5, 2014
Awesome! Excellent item. Easy to put together. Wonderful to look at and use. Glad I bought the protective cover and not the metal top. October 25, 2013
Great Pit! Well built of solid materials. Sturdy and beautiful. A true accent piece to my outdoor decor! September 18, 2013
Beautiful design We have had this fire pit for about a month and have used it a dozen times. It is large enough to get a good fire going - and looks beautiful in use and sitting on the patio. I would recommend it! August 10, 2013
Beautiful At This Time I purchased this fire pit after looking for a long time. I really like the way it looks. I have an untraditional fireplace with this pit sitting on top of a stone ledge; it’s heavy so it won't slide or flip in high winds. The only negative thing I have to say about it is I have only had it a few weeks and its already rusting. We did have a few rainy days but I didn’t expect the paint to fail so soon. The copper bowl had some imperfections in it when I got it, but was acceptable. Now after the rain the bowl has dark spots with dark streaks running down into the bowl. I am wondering if it’s a metal base coated or dipped in copper instead of solid. It may not be but appears to be. I still like it; time will tell if it holds up. April 12, 2013
First Time Disappointment We purchase on and off several times a year from Grandin and this is the first time that I have been disappointed in a product selection. The mesh fire screen paint peeled off with the very first use. April 9, 2013

The paint burned off the fire screen and now it rusts really bad.
Any time you have a fire it needs to be watched.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Grandin Road. The copper of the Fire Pit will naturally patina with age. To keep the fire pit clean and free of tarnish, a natural scrub can be used:
•Whole lemon
•Kosher salt for cookware or plain pieces
•Table salt for delicate, embossed, or engraved pieces
To clean and polish:
1.Cut the lemon in half, and dip the cut end into the appropriate salt.
2.Scrub the copper piece with the salt-covered lemon, using circular motions, until all the tarnish is gone. Reapply salt to your cut lemon as needed.
3.Rinse the copper piece thoroughly with warm water.
4.Dry the piece with a soft cloth or towel.
5.Use a second dry, clean cloth, buff using circular motions to polish the piece to a soft glow. The more you buff, the shinier the finish.
