Pre-lit Pinecone Christmas Greenery Collection 4.2 5 20 20
prelit pine cone This was a wonderful purchase. I had purchased the copper stands a while ago and got tired of trying to find decorations to fit. So this is great. However, I had one problem with them. They are shown in the picture in the stands, but when I opened them up, the directions are for them to stand in the ground. There is a stake which the bows stand in. That does not work in the planter stands. I had someone drill a hole in the stand container and then placed the pine cones through the hole. Otherwise the product would not work in the stands. The small stand holds the pine cone fine, but the large stand I just laid the pine cone on top of the boughs, as it would have been too deep to hold it. It all works, but not without some adjustments, which would not be expected looking at the picture. November 16, 2011
Love the Balls But the Greenery is Insuffcient The pine cone ball is perfect but the greenery is sparse and the picture in the catalog is misleading. Wish I could order more of the pinecone balls only. February 28, 2014
Not Exactly I ordered the pre-lit pinecone Christmas greenery and the column planters as shown in the catalog and online. They looked gorgeous and something a little different flanking my front door this holiday season and indeed they were when they were unpacked. Beware, however, the greenery is not made for the planter, nor does it fit properly. What you see is not what you get. You will need to make adjustments to both the two-piece planter and the greenery. Another reviewer drilled a hole in the shallow section of the planter to accommodate the greenery. I'm not that handy and so eliminated the shallow planter section and simply shoved the greenery into thetaller section of the planter. It therefore does not sit as high on the planter as pictured. Windy night here last night and fortunately they didn't blow over...waiting for our first nor'easter! Good luck! December 29, 2011
Pre-Lit Pinecone Sphere & Greenery The pictures of this item are a bit misleading. It appears that there is an abundance of greenery surrounding the sphere, but once unpacked and spread out, you find that - with only 4 'branches of greenery - it's much more sparse than the photo shows. This item would have benefitted greatly by adding another couple of branches of greenery. Also, the description says it has a sturdy wire frame that fits neatly in planters. Not so much. There is a round metal disk with a hole in the top that the sphere and branches are supposed to slide into - not a wire frame. I have tall square planters and assumed that this 'wire frame' would fit inside them. But, if you leave the planter insert inside, the whole arrangement sits up far too high for the look pictured. If I remove the insert, there is nowhere to place the round disk to hold the sphere and greenery. You just have to hook them together and push the whole thing down until it 'resembles' the picture - only with much less greenery. I had to put bags of rocks in the bottom of the planters to weigh them down so the whole thing wouldn't tip over in the wind. These really should have some kind of a large, square metal framework to hold the whole thing in place and slide into a planter. I just threw the disks away, since they are useless inside the planters. November 19, 2013
Distinctive but could be improved This is a very unique display and it is easy to assemble. The only drawback is that there is simply too little foliage/greenery to adequately fill out the display. The unit would be greatly improved if it had 5-6 greenery "arms" instead of just the 4. I had to add additional greenery to make it as full as the product pictured. December 2, 2013
Good but could be improved... First, I'm not a paid reviewer, I'm a REAL customer. I have the tall and short copper planters. The length of the shaft...the part attached to the pinecone ball which you insert into the metal stake...is too short, especially for the tall planter...makes the ball look sunken. As for the metal stake, the planters' inserts do not have holes in them so you will have to drill a hole yourself in each, and then another...if you're like me and want as-hidden-as-can-be plug-ins... in the bottom of the base of each. The greenery is beautiful; however, I agree with other reviews that an extra 2 sections would have produced a more full and acceptable result. Seems the creator had a good concept but fell really short on the actual installation/setup of the greenery/balls in the planters by the customer. To resolve these issues, the shafts should be made much longer and preferably with adjustable lengths to meet each person's needs...if someone doesn't actually use the copper planters from Grandin Road; add 2 more sections of greenery, and make pre-drilled holes in the planters' inserts and bottoms large enough the pinecone ball's shaft and the plug-in can fit through. On a positive note regarding the lights, the length from the plug-in to the first light was sufficient so that there was plenty of wiring which allowed the plug-in to stretch from the top insert out the bottom of the planter. Also, the pinecone ball is really attractive. I think it might have been nice to have had the greenery pre-lit as well...or maybe just the greenery lit and not the pinecone ball. Nonetheless, I'll be keeping these and using for years to come...maybe adding my own lights to the greenery. It just seems, for the money, these frustrating issues could have and should have been resolved prior to placing them on the market. December 29, 2013
Pretty but Pricey Really looks nice in my pot but I used real greenery because I didn't like the look of the faux greenery. The pre-lit pinecone ball is very cool. January 3, 2014
Copper stand and Christmas greenery These are great look fabulous with fresh snow on them, looking forward to turning them into spring planters and use for years to come. December 23, 2013

We appreciate your interest in this item. This greenery would work in a pot as opposed to an urn. Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures of this item in anything other than the urn, which was used for photography purposes. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Answer:
The piece is pretty big and the branches actually hang lower than in the picture so if you use a pot make sure it is high enough from the ground.

Answer:
Yes. Pinecone is actually designed to stake into the ground.
You just need to secure the base and arrange the greenery.

Answer:
Yes! Depending on the depth and width of the pot. If you have soil in the pot, the greenery has a stake that you can insert into the soil. If not, you would have to do something to stablize it from underneath. The pinecone ball is heavier than the greenery it sits on.
