Can you explain minor assembly. Not very mechanical so assembly scares me but love the bench
Thank you for your interest in the All-natural Teak Luytens Bench. You would have to connect the backrest, seat, and both side panels. The parts do bolt together.

Does the bench have a coat or two of polyverithane on it?
We appreciate your interest in this item. This teak bench is not coated in polyurethane. To preserve the natural teak finish and to prevent the patina finish from developing over time, we recommend treating this item with a teak cleaner or protectant once or twice a year.

Easy assembly
This bench is really attractive and good quality materials. My husband and I assembled it in about an hour and we're 77 years old!

Gorgeous bench
This bench is absolutely gorgeous and very well made. Comes in sections, but is easy to assemble. It’s extremely comfortable for one person to sit in the middle but, like all Lutyens benches, is slightly less comfortable for two people because of the shape of the back. Overall, it has made a major esthetic improvement to my yard and I am extremely pleased with it. Considering that it’s solid teak, it’s good value for the money.

Classical elegance at reasonable price
I have long admired the "Chinese Chipendale " look in garden furniture. Unfortunately prices in other catalogs were way out of my range. Luckily I found this gem at a reasonable price (the end of season discount was pure gravy). I love the look of the bench and my husband was pleased with the quality materials. My front yard now has a "Colonial Williamsburg" vibe. Now the big challenge will be to see how the bench survives exposure to Nebraska weather.

Disappointing quality. Arrived with breaks
As you can see from the photos below, I have not even finished assembling this product and I’m finding brakes and other disappointing quality defects. There are globs of glue at the frame. The frame is not cut and molded properly. Most disappointing is the split wood and next would at the top of the bench back. This compromise and integrity will likely mean that the bench would not last through one winter. This is one of my first Grandon Road purchases, and with the quality of this bench, things do not bode well for repeat visits.
