They're classically elegant and yet modern and contemporary for today's modern kitchens! They are also very well-made, and the swivel radius is perfectly designed! They swivel which makes it easy to get in and out of them. If you have priced counter chairs lately, you will know these are a great value. I highly recommend these chairs.

I had asked for samples of the leather and was very happy that one of the samples matched so perfectly. They work and sit well...very comfortable and sturdy. I agonized over my decision especially ordering unseen but couldn't be happier!

My sister has the Ellis stool (which I have always loved), but since it is no longer available I decided to go with the Avondale and could not be happier with my purchase! Not only is the Avondale a much improved upgrade when it comes to style, it is also equally as comfortable as the Ellis stools that my sister owns. I was a little wary of the comfort based on other reviews, so I decided to only purchase one to test it out and couldn't disagree more now that I have it! I absolutely love this stool and will definitely be buying more to go around my kitchen island!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Counter chair from Nice chair Let me begin by saying I wanted the Ellis chair but they didn’t have enough in stock for me to order. I thought the upgrade chair, Avondale looks nice, so I gave it a try. I purchased one chair because these chairs are expensive.. so I expect greatness. Overall I do like the chair, but I am concerned with the cushion. It is thinner than the Ellis. I don’t know why they made the upgraded chair with less cushion since people will be sitting in these chairs for hours some times. I have this chair at my bar so I got the counter height one. The plus side is they made the chair wider with a wider back and that is absolutely better. The cushion is still comfortable just not as comfortable as the Ellis. I love the quality of this chair and if they want to recall these chairs to make the cushion thicker I will gladly ship it 😃. Overall the chair is still a good buy.

However, I was told, by a customer service rep, that they swiveled 180 degrees from center. They don't. They only swivel 90 degrees from center, right or left. After waiting 3 months for delivery, I decided to keep the chairs, but am not happy how the swivel is advertised and with the misinformation I received from the company rep on the phone. Therefore, only three stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AndreaS113 from Disappointing replacement of the Ellis bar stool I have had 4 counter height Ellis barstools for several years. They were an investment, but have thoroughly enjoyed them. I have tried for several years to add two more to my collection, but they were never in stock and eventually they were discontinued. The Avondale is the replacement and after waiting over a month for the delivery, just got them. There is no comparison as far as comfort. The Ellis barstool cushion was comfortable and a joy to sit in. This one is rock hard. I’m mean like a piece of plywood with plastic material on it. Horrible! Also, the Ellis had a wood bar around the bottom circumference, which made it easy to swivel. They replaced it with two bars down the middle that serve no purpose. I ordered these new bar stools in the exact same wood and material but as you can see in the photo, the wood is much lighter. I have included photos that show how thick the Ellis cushion was on the right compared to the Avondale which is thinner with no cushioning. Usually when a product is replaced with a new one it’s because it has been improved. In this case they took an amazing product and made it a lousy one. Very disappointed.
