Decent Product. Great Customer Service
Received the product as described. However, there were several small cracks in 2 different areas of the chest. Chest is too big to repack and send back. Instead I asked for a credit for the damaged chest so I can have my handy man repair the cracks. Customer service was responsive and accomodating. If the chest was perfect when I received it, I would have given it 4 stars.

Poor Quality Considering the Cost
I just received my chest today and I am really disappointed. If I had to speculate, I am guessing that the 5-star reviews for this item are from people who bought the chest in a color other than white such as the black unit. I ordered the white one and what I received does not reflect the quality that I normally associate with Grandin Road's merchandise. Basically someone took a chest that had been previously painted a dark blue and applied a thin coat of white paint over it. You can see the dark blue paint through the white top coat. Also the doors of the cabinet aren't flush to the unit and have a gap when the cabinet doors are closed. There are also other aspects of the unit that make it feel like it is very low quality. If it hadn't taken so long for the unit to arrive and such a hassle to get the unit into my home and unboxed, I would return it. Very disappointed and will be very hesitant to buy something like this from Grandin Road in the future.

Poor quality
Purchased this cabinet a few weeks ago, had to employ a handy man to remove it from a huge box.unfortunately he discarded all materials otherwise it would have been returned. Upon examining the chest I couldn’t believe the poor paint quality, not to mention the wood, it looked like crate cartons. I went to the paint shop for assistance in correcting the quality, and I now have a somewhat better look at my expense and effort! A few lessons learned here, even in my senior citizen years!

Would it be possible to remove the tassels? I love the black cabinet but would prefer the tassels to be black or not be there.
