Find your seat height: Bar vs. Counter Stool

Start by measuring the distance from the floor to the underside of your bar, counter or table
Select a stool size that allows approx. 10" of space between the highest point of the seat cushion (or top of seat, if cushionless) and the underside of the surface
As a rule of thumb, select a bar stool with a seat height between 30" – 36" when the underside surface measures 40" – 46" high
Select a counter stool with a seat height between 24" – 29" when the underside surface measures 34" – 39" (the standard height range for a kitchen counter)
