Love my planter boxes
These planted boxes are built well, study and have adequate drainage and water input holes. I have three of them in my courtyard. I originally ordered dark brown, but what I received was charcoal gray. Since I needed them already, I just kept them. Good buy.

Perfect palnter
The rectangular planter fits perfectly under my front windows. I was somewhat concerned when the instructions stated to not leave outside in extremely cold weather, which is what I have. That means I need to bring indoors. PROBLEM SOLVED. I used 2 planters in it with my geraniums and petunia like accents and all is well. At the end of the season I can remove the planters and hubby can settle the big one in the garage. We love it! Curb appeal is terrific. No regrets whatsoever. Makes life easy in my old age to have colorful, seasonal plants.

Is the indigo blue anywhere close to Neptune blue ? I have 4 planters in the Neptune but it isn’t available any longer I don’t want the shades to clash with each other.
Thank you for your interest in the Devon Patio Planter. The Neptune is no the same color as Indigo. Neptune is a dark blue. The Indigo is more of a denim type shade.

Will these planters survive outside in a Chicago winter
I want to put fake boxwoods in them and leave them out all year. Will they crack during winter?
Thank you for your interest in the Devon Self-watering Patio Planter. This item is designed to be an all-weather planter and can be left out during the winter. However, we do recommend draining this item of water during winter months, even when using faux greenery. Please note, this planter should not crack in winter, but storing in a shed or garage does offer the best protection during extreme cold.

Can these be placed right next to each other to cover a patio seam?
If I buy 3 of these and want them to go side by side in order to cover a patio seam will they fit side by side? Or will there be a large, visible gap?
Thank you for your interest in the Devon Self-watering Patio Planter. If you place three of these side by side, there will be visible gaps between them due to the molding around the top and bottom of these planters.

How does this self watering planter work?
There's a trough at the bottom of the planter that holds water. You can either water directly through the dirt or through a hole on the top edge of the planter. Near the bottom of the planter on one side there is a tattle tale hole about a third of the way up that drains excess water so your plants are not over watered. The dirt slowly absorbs water from the bottom trough. I water once every two weeks for my planter that's in the shade and once a week for the one in the sun.
