Can the eyeballs be sprayed with clear coat to protect from damp conditions? Or can they be placed as decoration on a cheese or vegetable tray?

i saw the eye orbs hang from twigs(?) on the picture of the winged lady. i already have both cat and regular eye orbs and would like to buy more if they can hang them from twigs, etc. indoors. please advise.
