Faux Boxwood Garden Dog, Casey is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to my porch but a little unstable Looks terrific! But seems to fall over a lot... not very stable

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Cute but Falls Apart!! I am on my second Casey since my first one started falling apart within the first year. Grandin Road sent a replacement and again the new one is falling apart. This is super cute but I personally don’t think it’s worth the money. Although it is on our porch outside, it has never been in direct sun:(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcoming and sturdy This is our 2nd Casey - the first was a staple year round on our porch withstanding hot sun and northeastern snow. Neighbors, mailman, delivery men all have commented on how welcoming she is. The perfect faux boxwood topiary for our front porch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice outdoor Decir I bought this to add a spark of green to our front porch during winter. We don’t get snow but everything looks blah! So put the doggy topiary out and people comment on the cuteness

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cute I love these dogs so much♥️. I didn't regret buying them. I receive so many compliments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Do not put in sun light ! Do not put in any sunlight! It will fade and fall apart! The sun will melt the glue and pieces come off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great decor This is a favorite patio decor b/c it replicates our older dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! So happy with this garden dog- well made! I've been getting a lot of compliments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Topiary dog They continually are made worse each one I buy! Cheaper and don’t hold up.... way too much money for the quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Casey He is absolutely darling. I’m going to get a collar and leash for it and when I can afford one of the smaller ones I will get it to go with casey

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This dog sheds too Renamed him Norman the Doorman because he is so regal. Overall, this guy is a statement piece! I have had him outdoors for almost 3 years on a covered patio. His color has faded slightly but the problem is that he unravels and sheds. I was able to fix most of the unraveling with u-shaped craft pins and gorilla glue but the shedding still occurs. With that being said, this guy is just as cute in person as it is in photos and I still want to buy more from this collection. Given the short lived nature from a lot of commenters, Grandin Road should lower the pricing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable Big Dog What a cute dog! I bought this for my husband since our two older Labs have passed. We don't have the heart to get a real dog right now, plus we travel frequently, so Casey (renamed Lief by my husband) stands guard at our house! He was a hit and is big, tall, and sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So cute! Bought this for outside but thought it might not stand up to our hot summers, looks great indoors and is a real conversation piece!
Date published: 2020-06-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute but fragile I agree that it is adorable and a perfect replica of our late golden doodle. I did spray it with gorilla glue adhesive spray, and then scotch craft protectant spray, in the hopes of it lasting. I’ll probably continue to respray every so often and hoping for the best! One star deducted because I could already see how easy it will be for it to unravel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality I bought Casey, Peabody and Moxie a couple of years ago and have had them on my back deck. I get high winds, but little snow in winter. Hot sun in summer. All of these dogs have held up beautifully for the last two years. My deck is covered. Peabody has his leg through the railing so he doesn't piddle on the wood deck. They are all adorable. I do recommend them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed This is the second one I have bought. First one a year or so ago. The first one was good but did get damage from weather. Order a new one and the front legs are too short and it will not stand up. If you bend the legs, it will stand awkwardly and unstable. Loved this dog, very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short-lived Showstopper I bought Casey almost two years ago and agree with most of the reviewers. The coloring has faded and he has lots of bald spots. In fairness, he was not placed under a covered porch and had protection only along the back side; nor did I attempt to bring him indoors during our mid-Atlantic winters. I also ended up inserting a 6 foot stake (through the shoulder blades and between the front paws, as well as anchor stakes over each rear paw (the u-shaped stakes used for tents) which worked well. After all this I am grudgingly buying him again because he’s so darn cute. But I do wish he’d held out a bit longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute but fragile Received many compliments from neighbors. Put on front porch late Spring through Summer. Held up well through weather elements (porch gets partial sun light). But did start to come unraveled when I moved it. Had to glue greenery back on to form. Midwest weather, stored it for Fall & Winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Update I love these dogs and neighbors and passerby’s always stop and comment or ask if they can take pictures. Problem is after just after about a year they have shed their leaves. Very disappointing looking very rag tagged. We’re very expensive. Wish they would have weathered better. We even brought them indoors everynight

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth the Money Sadly I wish I read the reviews before buying as I see others have the same issue with Casey. Love him, but less than a year old and all the greenery is falling off and he has never been in direct sun. I paid less last year for Casey and I see they raised the price; not worth it for quality. I'm bummed:(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SAD! I bought this 2 years ago. It is only outside in the spring and summer. Should last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THEN AND NOW!! I bought Casey and Moxie in 2017. They used to be very green and the plastic was sturdy. Now, they are almost the same quality! I have them outside, so the color faded a little bit, but overall, they look great! I can’t wait to purchase Pepe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute dog with lots of compliments Love this dog. It’s so cute on my front porch. Only negative is the greenery has a tendency of coming off but you can reattach with pins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super cute! I bought Casey, and Peabody and moxie for gifts. We are dog lovers and just love them!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not aging well....further to my last review Super cute at first, but fades quickly, has lots of stray runners where he's losing 'hair'. Poor thing barely stands upright -- I have to lean him against a wall, so he looks even more sad.
Date published: 2019-05-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved Casey BUT he is not weather-resistant! Casey is brittle and falling apart after just 9 months in the Florida sun. Someone just told me I should have sprayed him with Scotchguard to preserve him. Wish I had known!
Date published: 2019-05-02
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adorable --for about a year Purchased about a year ago -- left outside. Now there are multiple strands of topiary that are loose -- color fades quickly as well. Would purchase again if it goes on super sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome fellow! Very nice feature on my front porch with his big red Christmas ribbon! Very well made and looks like a live toptirary.

I am interested in the Casey dog but measurements seem huge. Could you check and make sure those measurements are correct?  41 inches wide sounds huge. Thank you.

I am interested in the faux Boxwood dogs but need to know how to clean off as I live in the Phoenix area and we get dust. Dogs would be on a covered entry porch for protected from sun but not dust.

Asked by: Surber
Thank you for your interest in the Faux Boxwood Garden Dog - Casey. These dogs will be best in a covered or shaded area. To clean them simply rinse with a garden hose and set out to dry.

I bought one of the topiary dogs in 2017. I love it! Lately it has started to break down. Rows of the greenery has started to come off. Has anyone else complained of this issue?

Asked by: Ruthie53
I have had the same problems with Casey.  He is unraveling.  I recently bought Spray Clear Gorilla Adhesive and sprayed him all over to avoid any more unraveling.  So far so good and seems to make sense.  He is so cute!  Hope this is helpful to you.

How wide is Casey’s neck?

Asked by: OneSmartCookie
Thank you for your interest in the Faux Boxwood Garden Dog - Casey. Casey's neck measures approximately 18.5" around so a medium sized collar should fit depending on the brand that you get.

casey, I understand the height, width, but the length???? does not appear that big in pic.

Asked by: rett
Thank you for your interest in the Casey Faux Boxwood Garden Dog. The length is from top of Casey's head to the ground. The height is from front to back, and the width is from left to right or front paw to front paw.
