Faux Podocarpus Ball is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average quality, but pretty with some work. I love my podocarpus ball at first, but after 1 year it looked like a cheap plastic ball. I had to hit up Home Depot for green spray paint. The color was then darker due to my paint job, but it looked real once again, similar to that of an evergreen shrub. The sun and warm weather makes PVC fade very very quickly. The heat makes it smell so so bad. Guests at my door said it smelt like a cat had marked somewhere, but it was actually the podocarpus ball. It was embarrassing. Keep it indoors and it will be fine and better. Way way better! Also, warning, spiders LOVE nesting and making webs all in and in this thing. I am constantly hosing it off. Brushing it makes webs stick. I recommend this if you are willing to paint it later after it fades.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color doesn't last The faux podoarpus ball was just what I was looking for to put in my Zoey urns on my covered front porch. I'd read that the color didn't last for some customers but decided to give them a try. Yes, my porch is covered but gets full morning sun. Unfortunately, my bright green "plants" are now blue-green. These are not cheap items and I'm disappointed I didn't get more than a year and a half out of them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice looking We had a hard time trying to tie down inside our pots so the wind would not blow them away. I am returning and will purchase something attached to a branch type Faux to place in my pots. These would be better if they had something attached so that you can place them in a pot with out them blowing away or grandkids grabbing them. They also come apart easily so don't try and pick them up from the top. We learned the hard way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Realistic These Podocarpus balls are perfect for my urns by my front door. My front door doesn’t get much sun so I’m not sure how they would fare under direct sunshine. They look very real and even on windy days they have stayed in place with nothing holding them down. I just pushed them down a bit when I put them out the first time. Love them! No watering!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Podocarpus Ball Love it! Looks real in my urn on the front porch and adds to the ambience I want to portray!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flat on both ends The top and bottom are both flat, not round as the ball should be. This was disappointing. I was able to lift part of it up, but shouldn’t have had to do that.

I have a round planter with a diameter of about 14 inches. Is the 14in ball the right size or will it sink too low? If iIget the larger one will it push in snug, or will it be too high and blow out with any wind? please let me know what's best. thank you

Asked by: ball
Thank you for your interest in the Faux Podocarpus Ball. The 14" ball will fit into your 14" planter but will not have the full look like the picture. It will sink into your planter.

Thank you for your interest in the Faux Podocarpus Ball. Anything smaller than 13 1/2" should work for the 14" ball.

What are dimensions of the base of ball that sits down into an urn. Is it round or square. How do you know it fits in an urn?

What size pot should I buy

Asked by: AmyBaby
Thank you for your interest in the Faux Podocarpus Ball. What size planter you will need will depend on how full or over full of a look you want. This item should go far enough into your planter to fit securely. The size listed for this item is the diameter around the widest, center point. So you will want the interior opening of the urn to be 14" or 18" and smaller. We picture it in many of our planters including Devon, Copper Footed, Esther, Lucas, Zoey, Nantucket, and the Zara.

I asked a guestion if a 14" ball would be the right size for an 11" urn. If this works I want to take advantage of the sale. You replied you would get back in 24 hrs. The sale will be over!

Wondering if these have a metal frame. I want to secure them in urns outdoors so they don’t blow away!
