VERY realistic
I bought this last year and it was great. I just put it out this year and again great. Until we got a knock on the door at 1 am and it was a fully outfitted firefighter with the hose pulled up to our house. Apparently a neighbor saw the light and thought our house was on fire. So if you are looking for realism this is it!

Very Effective

Great lighting effect!
I bought this to light up my front porch for Halloween as an extra spooky effect - and boy did it work! It made the front door and porch look creepy and distracted the Trick or Treaters so they did not notice my jumping spider until it was too late! Lots of fun for the kids and for us as we watched them come to the door. Easy to set up and great pricing! Will use every year!

The Perfect Touch
This Fire & Ice light, is the perfect touch to my Halloween decorating. I put up a black tree, and cover it in fun Halloween ornaments. I use Halloween "floral picks", and put them in the branches. Sequin spider sprays mostly. I put the light, at the base of the tree. The orange and red "smoldering" light, projects under the branches, up to my ceiling. It casts images of moving spiders, onto the ceiling, projected from under the branches. So special! I ordered another, and had it shipped to my 2 granddaughters. They decorate a Halloween tree also. LOVE IT!

Another Fantastic Purchase! So Very Cool!
I ordered 3 of these and just ordered another one moments ago at 50% off. These are shining on the front exterior of our home. Our house is set back about 140 feet or so from the road and even though we're set back far, the effect can still be seen. Our home's exterior is brick at the bottom and siding on the upper half (colonial style). The effect on the brick is awesome. These sort of have the effect of fire, but my husband and I think it resembles more like the surface of water moving. Either way, it is very cool. I wish I could upload a picture with my review. In addition to these shining on our exterior, we also have Grandin Road's Flicker Flame Lights (another fantastic purchase) on each of our 6 front windows. The total effect is very cool.

Setting the Mood
Love these little gems. Saw these last year at a neighbors house and had to twist their arms to share the secret for the great lighting on the front of their house. Caught these on special this year (EPIC) and got three to light the front of our home. Adds the perfect eerie glow to our skeletons and witch without being over the top. Am getting several more just to have in reserve. Feel sturdy and not cheap -- hoping they last as long as they feel.

Wow! This is the only lighting you need!
Bought these last season and brought them out again this season. They still work perfectly! You do not need any other outdoor lighting bc these give off a definite fire glow. We get compliments all the time from people asking where we got them. You will not be disappointed. My only suggestion is to make sure you place it as close to the house/siding as you can. The closer you place it, the more intense the lighting effect. We have 3 that light up the front of our house- you definitely need more than one to get the perfect lighting.

Exceeds Expectations
I am picky. I read all of the reviews. I have read them in a few different places -- not just on Grandin Road.
The product arrived. I plugged it in. I immediately loved it. My husband did too. (He's a hard sell.) My only regret is not buying more.
The piece is very much like other reviewers described, so I won't repeat much. What I can share that I did NOT expect how magical the "fire" appears. I placed it in our front room and walked outside to get a full view of it at night from the outside looking in. It looked like our home was on fire ... but in a magical way (think Disney).
I couldn't imagine a better choice for sharing the Halloween spirit without panicking the neighbors.

YES!!!! I'm finally got this.....every time I tried to buy it last year, it was sold out. This little fire and ice spotlight delivers on everything....quality, durability, appearance. It provides just the perfect lighting effect for all your Halloween props and decor. Even just one spotlight shines bright enough on your wall and casts a fiery pool of light. Now I just wish they would bring the fire and ice lanterns back!

Looking forward to Halloween!
I purchased this fire and ice spotlight mainly for a background for Halloween, highlighting my witch and 7 foot black Halloween tree that has orange lights strung on it, it should look amazing! My husband loves it also, since Halloween is our favorite holiday, and this has amazing fire effects! Love it!

How "strong" is the light?
I live on a corner with a street light that shines on my house, and I am concerned it will overpower the effect of this light.
Buy a couple of these, it should be good to withstand the street light shining at your house. I've streetlights by my house as well and these fire and ice lights are good and the red is dominant over some white streetlight(s), I aim both of my fire and ice lights at my porch, no issues. Even with other fire and ice colors that you may find here or elsewhere(I've green and also have blue) it should be dominant over white light from street.

can the bulb be replaced?
Do you offer a replacement bulb? or does the orange/red cover remove for regular bulb replacement?
No, the bulbs can't be replaced. I ordered a spare to keep on hand; however, these being LED, they should last several years.

How big an area does this light?
Would one cover the front of a house well that's 25' long x 30' high? I want it to look very good, not just dully lit! Or should I use 2?
One would work, but I recommend two. However, I have a two-story colonial and I originally used two. The effect was fine, but I added a third light so I could get even more coverage.
