Halloween Bats with Flashing Eyes, Set of Three is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly assembled Had 2 bats hanging for less than a hour when the filament that attaches to the body came off on both. The same happened to the large one overnight. Weather clear, no rain, slight breeze. Took them down and hoping that hot glue will fix them. Do not recommend them, would not purchase them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bats w/Flashing Eyes While the product appears to be constructed well, the monofilament line that is attached to the body of the bats breaks easily once hung. The lines that are attached to the tips of the wings seems to hold fine. I've tried using Super glue and hot glue to re-attach the line but it keeps coming off. Product needs to be re-engineered to come up with a better means of securing the line to the body of the bat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wanted to love them but... I bought these bats a couple of years ago and wanted to love them. First, they require button batteries which do not last and are hard to find. Second, I cannot find a good place or way to hang them. I try to use them every year but get frustrated. Just an FYI, my husband purchased several AA battery replacement boxes to switch out the button battery props and this works better for us. We have not replaced the bat battery boxes because I still can’t find a way to use them that I am happy with. The bats do look nice though and are a good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bats! The eyes are very bright and the wings are made well. Great with a breeze!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Halloween bats I purchased these last year and hung on the ceiling of our food tent during our Hallow's Eve party. They were super cute but with the slightest wind (we live in AZ) the clear fishing line that you hang them from ripped from their bodies. I had to safety pin them and they hung slanted. My least favorite Halloween purchase from Grandin Road last year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and Posable These bats are substantial. I bought them last year for my haunt. I posed one of them hanging upside down with the wings closed and the other two flying in various positions. The glowing eyes are wonderfully creepy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just Ok But Good Value I've had these bats for a few years now and they look really cool in terms of size and quality but the red eyes are a pain. If you hang them, as they should be used, you have to flip the switch on/off every time. Without the red eyes, they don't stand out much. For us, that means a ladder every night. Hanging them lower might be an option but you wouldn't normally see bats 4' off the ground. I guess I'm too much of a realist. Wish they had a timer switch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flying bats Bought these a few years ago. They were excellent. Gave them away. Now, I wanted them again. They aren't as good as my first purchase. Still an ok bat, but, the quality was better before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size! These guys are huge- nice wingspan, very realistic looking, and the blinking eyes are perfect! I hung with some fishing twine. the loops on one bat gave way but I easily attached the twine to the bat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CHEAP! I am really surprised there are good comments on the quality. I have never seen anything so poorly made. Sure they are inexpensive but that doesn't mean it has to look like a kid crafted it. There was glue spots everywhere, crooked poorly laid out fabric - literally scraps of fabric hot glued to foam. From afar they look great but upclose they are a disaster. The bats kept falling off the strings (which are hot glued to the bats not better secured). After hot gluing the strings back 4-5 times, I finally complained to Grandin Road and they were awesome enough to refund me! Happy with customer service but I think these bats are complete garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creepy I never read the dimensions and went back and forth about the price, but finally broke down and bought them. When the box came, I couldn't wait to open it. It was long. These are great. Larger than expected. Like previous reviews, I am going to spray them with Scotchguard to protect them before hanging. I can't say I tried lighting the eyes because where I am hanging them, I wouldn't be able to reach it daily to turn them on and off. I recommend these!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Scary Prop The Bats are very life like. I really like the size of them. I have not used them yet. I will put them up for this Halloween. They will be hung off scary branches in my front yard. I am also going to scotch guard them so I can keep them outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger than I expected Love the way they look. Can't wait to hang them outside under my patio umbrella which has solar lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bats... I've ever seen. The wings are textured, the bodies and heads are furry. The big one is poseable. Well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life like looking bats I have these hanging in my tree in the front yard. They are very real looking are a great size. When the wind blows and the eyes are lit - they look so cool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 bats with red eyes Wow! Love these guys - very realistic looking. The wings and ears have metal wire so you can shape them and bend them into the shape you want. I just got them so can't speak to durability, but I plan to take care of them so the wings don't tear, etc.
Date published: 2013-10-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Realistic looking The bats are very realistic shaped and colored. Nice sized . I haven't put them up yet but question if I may need to reinforce the attachments as they came attached with glue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really lifelike These are great. The red eyes make all the difference. They don't make a noise. Suspended from a wire between a tree and the house they are really spooky!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very cool these bats are very cool. love the light up eyes. the wings can be posed in different flight patterns & look almost life-like. really good purchase for the price. can't wait for halloween!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bat-tastic!! These art so cool! I like the three different sizes and the quality of these is awesome! I love the furry bodies, too! The glowing eyes are a nice touch as well! I can't wait to display them! Grandin Road is a Halloween lovers paradise! Thanks for these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love 'em! Good looking bat trio! Very realistic and posable. The eyes flash red then fade out — nice touch! Planning on attaching them to some fishing line strung up between our house and a tree, so they look like they're in flight. They look reasonably well-made... keeping my fingers crossed that they'll last!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scary looking, but not durable The bats look great, however, all six that I ordered had at least one part of the line break, so they do not hang right. I would not order these again or recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Batty for the Bats CREEPY LOOKING!! - especially when eyes flash red. Very large when wings expanded and easy to hang.

What type of batteries do they use?

Asked by: HauntMom
Thank you for your interest in Grandin Road. Each of the bats takes 3 AG13 batteries, which are included.

What kind of batteries are required to power these little guys?

Asked by: Cathy
I have these . They DO NOT take aa batteries!!! As Grandin road said they take a total of 3 ag13 batteries each . Make a note of that because it doesn’t say it anywhere on the bat and you will have these a long time . Mine are over five years old and after the first year you will need new batteries. Big hint remove batteries before putting them away for the year

Are these weather resistant? We live in Seattle, which has a lot of rain.

Asked by: Anonymous
They should stand up to being rained on. Maybe a small piece of tape on the battery door which is on the top of the body.
