We just received ours today (it was back order since last year). Unfortunately, there are no instructions and we cannot seem to fit its paws around a substantial tree limb because the paws are So Close together.

How to hang The Sloth as its paws are so close together it will not fit on a substantial limb to hold the weight? There are no instructions…
How much does it weigh?

Hanging Sloth
This guy is so adorable. Seems well made and discreetly hangs from a large branch on a tree of similar color. Makes me smile.

I Love this guy! Brings a smile to everyone’s face
I almost didn’t buy it because of the cost and the 2 reviews about its weight and difficulty putting up. Yes, it took two of us in a ladder but we found the appropriate sized branch cut off the end and slid it down, as you can see it looks fabulous.

Hanging sloth
It’s made very well definitely brings attention to your landscaping!!!I put mine more in a sitting position because I didn’t have quite the right branch to put him hanging but he looks just as good upright

Hanging sloth brings a smile to my face!
Love this, but we had no idea how it would hang from our tree and my husband had to trim a branch in order for this to hand properly.

I love my sloth!
This is a fun addition to my garden..and quite a conversation piece. It is light and easy to handle. The only drawback is that the the legs are static so I will have to wait until the leaves are off my tree to find a permanent branch that she can easily slip over.

What can I say, Brilliant
I shop at Grandin Road for the unique, different and whimsical. I think it is hard to be more unique and whimsical than having a sloth hanging in your front yard. We think the neighborhood kids will love it and are planning a naming contest.

Hanging “a little too tight” sloth
Love this but it is near impossible to hang on the tree. Claws broke off so we actually hung on tree and then glued back on
But it is very cute hanging in the tree

Cute and fun
Super cute! Very heavy and needs to hang from something strong. Also, need to be able to slide the sloth on a branch because it’s hands are not far apart. Would give it 5 stars if it was easier to hang.

Difficult to hang
It is difficult to get the arms and legs around a live limb that is strong enough for the sloths weight.

My hanging sloth garden statue - one hand broke
In the spring, a dear friend gave me this sloth because she knows I love sloths. This weekend, my husband found part of one hand on the ground. The sloth is still hanging in the tree for now, but without part of his hand has lost some of his charm.

Beautiful but not practical
The sloth is beautiful and well made. There are 2 problems-it is VERY heavy and almost impossible to put on a branch.

Installation
Very cute, but limbs should be hinged/adjustable so it can be clamped AROUND a branch, and not require extensive pruning to slide the sloth DOWN the branch through the relatively narrow opening between the limbs.

Absolutely darling but brutal to hang
We love sloths. Everything about them. We could not have been more excited to order this darling critter. Unfortunately, the first one came with a crack by its tummy and arm. The replacement came and we had a terrible time hanging it on a tree branch. Its paws are so so so close together you need a VERY small branch to accommodate the sloth. The problem is the sloth has so much weight to it the smaller branches also may be too little to hold the weight of this cutie. We love how it looks but it is not especially practical.

Cute, but bad.
cute but very difficult to get on a tree. The arms don't move and it's pretty heavy so you have to find a long skinny strong branch. Not great.

Beautiful, but does not hang well.
The sloth itself is beautiful. Hanging it, however, is a different story. It is heavy, so needs a substantial limb to hang on. It is nearly impossible to get it situated on a substantial limb because of the way the arms and legs come together. I have tried several times. My sloth is still sitting in my garage and I’m not sure what to do with him. I am extremely disappointed.
