In the 3rd picture, what is being put inside the item, is it sand? Why would you need to.put something inside this? Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in our Harvest Harlow Topiary. Sand or gravel is recommended to be added in this item to keep it from blowing over, they are not very heavy weighing 11 lbs.
