Nantucket Rocking Chair is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 589.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not A Compromise We have had four on our front porch for three years. A new friend in the neighborhood, mother-in-law, and returning son has us add a fifth to the lineup. Attractive, comfortable, easy to assemble and classic colonial colors, from morning coffee and afternoon wine, makes this the perfect rocker for friends and family.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable chair Very roomy and comfortable chair. Not hard to assemble but I recommend using two people to hold the parts together. I did it myself and caused a few scuff marks to the paint. Awaiting the matching table.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Paint peeling I loved these rocking chairs when I first received. I have in a darker pink than the one that is available. They sit outside on a covered front porch. The paint is now chipped on one of the rocking chairs and it is nearly impossible to match. I live in the south; we have very mild winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rockers Bought these a few years ago and they still look new on our covered patio. Simple assembly and solid chairs. will be ordering more!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice chairs, but they do NOT hold up well outdoors Less than three months after being placed outside (and being covered during bad weather), my first set of rocking chairs had paint peeling off and cracks in the wood (see photo). They were still within the one year warranty, so I exchanged them for another set and applied a clear coat of paint before placing those outside. (Why does the manufacturer not add a protective clear coat?!) That greatly prolonged the finish. After about three years, they now need to be repainted (which is reasonable), but there is no reason for me to bother because one of the wood pieces that supports the seat slats broke on one of the chairs. I asked about purchasing a replacement part, but that is not an option. I like the chairs, but I do not think an item that is supposed to be for outdoor use should fall apart so quickly when used outdoors!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware These are not made for outside. The paint chips and the wood chips and falls apart. I bought a rocking chair and bench and both fell apart. We don’t even sit on them. They’re on my deck just for looks. They suggest you polyurethane coat them and it doesn’t help. I liked the look so muchthat I reourchased them. What a waste of money. Same thing happened to them within 6 months. If you like the look only use these inside or you are throwing money away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint peeling after less than a year!! I bought these less than a year ago for our front porch. Yes, its uncovered and they are exposed to rain. They're supposedly sealed in a weather resistant stain. Today I went to clean them with a soap and washcloth and the paint is literally peeling off. Hosing them off gently with water was causing more peeling too. My gorgeous white rocking chairs look old and weathered in less than a year. Not impressed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them. Easy assembly Look great. I didn’t like the amount of non-recyclable products it’s packaged in.

Looking to put two of the nantucket rockers with one of the nantucket side tables on a 45" x 65" outdoor rug, will that be a large enough rug for those 3 items?

Asked by: j123456789
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Rocking Chair. The rocking chairs are each 24.5" wide and the table is 18" wide. The rug would not be long enough for all 3 items to sit on it, I apologize.

Do these chairs need to be sanded before applying the urethrane. Also in one previous question the person that answered said to apply polyurethane and other answers said urethane. So does it matter which is applied.

Asked by: Jim 1
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Rocking Chairs. We do not recommend sanding the chair, you could remove the paint. These come with a hand-applied polyurethane finish, however, you could use urethane when reapplying.

what kind of urethane do we use? oil based or water? Is this something you can spray on to protect it or does it need to be painted on by a brush?

Asked by: sweetg
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Rocking Chair. You will want to use a polyurethane, it can be purchased at any hardware store. They have spray and brush options, how you would prefer to apply it is up to you. Look for a finish that has additives for ultraviolet protection. The label should say for exterior use so the dried finish will flex with the expanding and contracting wood.

Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Rocking Chair. Our 21" x 19" knife-edge, tufted and double-piped chair cushions (item #160706) coordinate with the Nantucket Rocking Chair. We had the white cushion previously, I apologize it is no longer available.
