Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase EVER! I have a plain white house and when I saw these window planters (in red) I bought them for almost every window in my house and then added black shutters. What a difference!!!! I get tons of compliments from neighbors and passers by. It makes me want to do even more for curb appeal. I bought everything you had to offer in red and am so glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy window box Purchased one in the green for my daughter's house. Matched the shutters on her house perfectly. We loved them so much that she order a larger one in the green and 2 in the smaller ones for the Windows on her storage shed! We have received nothing but compliments on them. They are simply gorgeous! So very happy with our purchases!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to brighten a very blah window This planter is lovely. Nice size and the design is nice to keep it from drying out quickly. We had to add some additional materials for mounting due to the location we were putting the planter but all went well it just took some time and two of us for a couple steps. Ours was placed high and it was the biggest size available. It really brightens up the area. Good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy Look The Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter is just what I had in mind to complete my front yard landscaping. It pulls the whole window area together, and the self-watering feature is great. It's a little pricey, but I'm hoping it will last for years. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Do I need to place stones in bottom for drainage?

Asked by: Lauren
I used a liner in mine since it's in an awkward spot for me to get to. However I believe the instructions tell you to use wood chips if I'm not mistaken. I've used styrofoam pieces in other planters and it works great so that would be an option.

Do you recommend a box length shorter or wider than the window frame?

My window frame extends just shy of 5 ft while the glass within extends just passed 4 ft.
Asked by: ready-to-order
They do recommend wider but mine is a little smaller than window and I love it. It's a well made window box.

How difficult would it be to attach these planters to brick?

Asked by: Cassandra
I would think a mason would be able to help you with that. I can't see why it couldn't be done.

How do I get the water out from within the planter?

When I take the plug out and turn it upside down the water then goes to the top of the planter inside.

Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. To provide direct access to the water reservoir we recommend drilling a 3/4" hole in the top or back side of the planter as described in the instructions. This hole should then be covered with the included rubber plug. Once this is done the water can be drained, if needed, by removing the plug and turning the planter so the hole is down.

Installation question

How would I install a 2' planter to my window sill with this trim piece in the way. Could it sit inside firmly or does it need to be below the window? Please see pic attached.
Asked by: meagain
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. There are brackets that have to be screwed into your exterior wall to hold this item; it is designed to be installed under the window. To install on your home, it would need to be placed under your window trim.
