Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boxes! I ordered two of these boxes for the front of my house in blue. They are stunning. I also ordered the fillers for the windowboxes and they look wonderful. Beautiful contrast with the blue boxes against the red brick of my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT DISPLAY PIECES These were red, but on clearance, so the price was right. I'll paint them, but haven't yet decided on the color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We Love Our Window Planter! We purchased an older home and knew that we were going to have it painted. Prior to the beginning of that project, I purchased a Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter with corbels in white. It pops against the warm camel-shade brown of the house. Mums and ornamental kale are planted in it now, but in the spring and summer, it will be filled with red, white, and blue flowers and ivy. The solid corbels help to stabilize our 5' long window box, which we love! We have received many compliments about how nice the house looks now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine, but not for use in rainy environment I ordered the blue box, it is a dull, not glossy blue, but it is still attractive. I put vermiculite in the bottom, then planted normally. The problem is that these do not drain - at all. And if you live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, you will drown your plants. And when you try and try and try to drain them, they will not drain. This makes them very heavy. I finally had to drill holes in the bottom to get them to drain. I still like them and have used them to replace the defective window boxes that my HOA insists I install.

Is the Nantucket window box difficult to install on a brick wall?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. For standard installation the included brackets should be attached to the wall with the included screws. For installation on a concrete or brick wall we recommend using masonry fasteners that can be purchased from a local hardware store.

How easy is it to remove the box from the brackets and what do the brackets look like sitting on the house if I took the boxes down for the winter?

Asked by: Elizabeth
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. This planter simply sits on the wall brackets and under the lip at the top of the brackets and can easily be removed from the brackets. The brackets are black, metal brackets that will stick out from your house even without the planter on them.

What does the back side of this planter look like?

I plan to put my planter on a deck at the top of the stairs where both front and back will be visible. What does the back side of this planter look like? Is it finished the same as the front?
Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. The back of this planter has the same finish as the front. However, it does not have the decorative details and has notches where the brackets attach to it.

Is it possible to install the corbels later, or do they need to be installed at the same time as the window box?

Asked by: Margaretta
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. The Set of Two Corbels for Nantucket Window Planter (37517) can be added later. Simply remove the planter from the installed brackets, attach the corbels to the brackets and replace the planter.

for railing mounted window boxes do they hang or supported by corels?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. The railing mount for this item does wrap around the bottom of the item for support, but corbels are not included. The Set of Two Corbels (37517) for this item do not add extra support and are only for decoration.

What can I use to clean the dirt from the outside of the white Nantucket window boxes?

Asked by: Gardener
Common sense tells me...Since it's a pvc material, do not use anything abrasive. Use a soft sponge and water...maybe some plastic cleaner (used for outdoor furniture) if a lighter colored box gets stains on it. be gentle as to not ruin the finish or leave swirl marks in the plastic ;)

can the boxes be painted?

I would like the window box to match my shutters. Is it possible to paint the boxes without damaging them? Thanks!
Asked by: Elizabeth
Thank you for your interest in the Nantucket Self-watering Window Planter. We do not recommend painting this item, as it would required you to sand down the current finish which could void the warranty.
