Are they waterproof? Can you float them in a pool?
No. There is a battery lid on the bottom of the sphere held in place with 6 mini screws. Ok for general weather, but I seriously doubt it would survive a pool.

What makes them illuminate
I have the 10” sphere. It takes 3 C batteries.

Can the balls stay in place during windy moments? Do they have any sort of weight inside or the balls are so light that any wind would make them go/fly?
It’s not weighted. It will stay in place in a moderate breeze, but I thought I might run a string or ribbon under the battery lid to secure it from beneath.

How do the spheres illuminate ? Is it solar
Catalog says it plugs in. And timer function. But I see nothing on the website that says this. I will not order them if they are solar. Solar never lasts. I want to use them on a screened in porch.

Perfect gift!

Oh my gosh! These are amazing!! Definitely wouldn’t leave them outdoor during a storm but if you have a semi covered patio or porch, these are great!

Glowing review of the Large Illuminated Sphere
I have 2 large outdoor Urns in my outside front entry that I purchased from Grandin Road that I LOVE. I have different toppers that I put in the urns depending on the season or holiday. I saw these Outdoor Illuminate Spheres and thought they would be a nice change for summer and they are. I love the look and the soft light they shine on my front door and entry. I did not realize that the large spheres were not battery operated (even though it is in the description details) they are plug-in. Since I did not want extension cords hanging out of my beautiful urns, I bought 2 rechargeable power sources that I can plug them into and I achieved the clean look I wanted. The plugs are great for a garden area or where you can hide them since they are large.

Great outdoor light for around a pool/ steps.
Easy to install the batteries and just the right amount of light. The 6.5” lights don’t throw off the same amount as the 10” so I returned the smaller ones and went with all 10”.
