Love this guy!
Ruslan (the Red) arrived one solid color, but I did his eyes an iridescent red over a dark blue to darken them up but leave a beautiful red look. As for hanging, if you're opposed to drilling into your walls (as I am), it's simple enough to make a small mounting board to permanently attach to the back. That way you can move him around, but it will leave a slight gap between the moose and the wall. My only complaint is that the antlers aren't angled out, like a real moose, but that would probably cause balance problems and require a longer neck - increasing the weight/size, and he's not exactly small . . . so not a big problem . . . .

Whimsical Purchase
I love this moose head! It was perfectly packaged in large Styrofoam blocks so as not to arrive damaged. The antlers are easily removable, so that a Christmas wreath can be added. It hangs on the way to our second level of our mountain home and makes the area really pop! A wonderful addition!

High ceiling is desirable
Wonderful piece. I purchased this to use as a Christmas decoration at my business, a framing store/gallery. It's artsy! Great quality.

Love our new red moose!
We decided to purchase the red moose because we figured we'd find a way to hang him and we did. We have a brick fireplace, which we needed to buy longer screws. Other than that it wasn't hard to hang. I wish I could post some photos. It looks great in our home. I do have to mention that in the photos on the Grandin Road website, it appears that moose has eyes that are painted dark. Our moose came totally red. We plan to paint in his eyes. Otherwise, love the red moose!

Love the moose
I was skeptical after reading the reviews on difficulty hanging. I had no problems with that. I absolutely love it. It is a really big statement piece. Bought a second one for a gift!

Gorgeous Red Moose
I read the reviews about how troublesome hanging this handsome Moose was and purchased anyway. It was pretty simple to install onto stone above our fireplace! We did have to use masonry screws and drill into our stone, but it is a gorgeous addition to our holiday decor! We also hung battery operated (and on a timer) lights from his horns. LOVE LOVE him!

Love the red moose; had NO problem hanging it!!
I'd read about the problems with the interlocking bracket and the small screws, and bought the moose anyway. My fireplace is natural rock, so I thought it might be even more difficult. But all I did was take a piece of 100 lb picture wire, plastic coated, and tied it to the two brackets on the back, ignoring what they were designed for. I hung the wire on a screw in the rock just like you would do a picture frame. DONE! I do have a wreath on it, so you cannot see that it does not fit totally flush against the wall, but with rock it was not going to do that anyway, and the wreath covers the gap. It feel strong and sturdy in place.

Looks awesome, good luck hanging it!
So the harlequin moose looks awesome - makes me chuckle every time I see it - and is very well made... but no idea how to hang it. It comes with funky interlocking (and secure) mounting hardware that assumes you will be hanging it from wood paneling (because the screws for the wall side of the brackets are super-tiny, and larger ones would prevent the two halves of the bracket from fitting together). I want to mount this thing on a brick fireplace, but I don't think it's even possible. I may have to just return it...

Is the red color a bright cherry red or more of a darker poinsettia red? Thank you~
To customers who have already purchased the red moose head: I'm concerned that the red color is a bright, cheap looking red. Cannot tell if the website pics have flooded it with light to show detail or if the color of it is actually this bright candy-red color. Thanks for any help describing the actual red color! :-)
Not sure how to answer this because 1) "cheap looking" is an opinion and 2) computer monitor colors differ; so I don't know what you're seeing or what you would consider cheap looking. One picture on this site has the moosehead flanked by poinsettias, and those are pink-reddish looking to me, while the actual moose looks a different shade of red. I think he looks very similar to the site pictures, but I wouldn't consider those pictures "bright" nor "cheap looking" - I also don't think those pics are flooded with light, either. He's not a brick red, he's not a candy-apple red, but he's just a regular mundane red to me - not bright or cheap looking, but he is still essentially a plastic red moose. Mine did come all one color, though, including the eyes, so if you like the darker eye look you may be on your own to change their color.

Is this rated for outdoor use?
We own this moose and we wouldn't recommend displaying it outdoors but we do live in the Midwest and the environment wouldn't be conducive.
