Damage
Take all the packing materials off when you get it. We didn’t because we are remodeling and we’re not ready. There was damage on the door sadly.

Can't wait to hang
This purchase is for new construction, so haven't hung yet. But opened to make sure wasn't broken (looks OK) and such a great idea to keep jewelry etc *inside* the mirror. I'm going to hang on wall not door.

Beautiful but a little frustrating.
Was very excited to find this beautiful storage mirror for my daughter's room. When it arrived the mirror was pulling away from the door and it had a strong chemical smell. Grandin road replaced it right away with free expedited shipping. Sadly I had the same issue with the 2nd one. I called again and they offered to replace it. It just needed to be glued in place so I asked for a discount to keep it and repair it myself. A couple emails later and that's what happened. It's hanging up beautifully in her room now and the smell has faded over time. I'm hoping it will disappear completely eventually. It's a nice bright white color which is sometimes hard to find and the upholstery inside is beautiful and elegant looking. Lots of room for all her stuff with space left over. Worth the hassle I went through to have it.

Beautiful Storage Hanging Mirror
This mirror is very lovely and works well in our guest room - very solid with surprise storage - I gave three stars as the item has stress cracks around the hinges - hoping it will last!

Over-Door Storage
This is a beautiful piece. But it is quite heavy. Even empty the weight will damage an interior door. It is gorgeous, so I thought I'd hang as a cabinet. When unpacking, I discovered the cabinet side was damaged, where the two hinges are attached. Because of the weight of the door w/mirror, I am afraid the weakened areas will not support the door. Plan to return the cabinet. I would recommend the product as a wall cabinet, but NOT as an over-the-door piece.

Beautiful, but heavy!
This mirror is gorgeous and has awesome storage. Unfortunately, one side of my bathroom door is beginning to pull away and sag only a month after hanging it (with nothing stored in it). We are going to try longer screws in the door hinges to see if it helps. So pretty, but also very heavy.

Way too heavy for hanging on a door
This cabinet looks so good -- but it weighs way too much to be attached to a door. Our contractor warned us off -- but anybody could tell it would pull the door right off its hinges. Also, the mirror almost fell off when we opened the door. It was only partially attached to its frame. To save ourselves the bother of shipping it back, we'll try to fix the mirror and hang the thing on a wall. Very disappointing.

Can this be hung over a hollow door?
Yes. The box was heavy & thought it would be too heavy for our hollow door, but I was wrong. The hanging hooks are strong. It is perfect. Does not effect the door at all. Love it.
