Set of Five Bone China Flying Gulls is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from EYE CATCHING I THINK THESE ARE VERY PRETTY ON THE WALL BUT THE HOLES ON THE BACK ARE TERRIBLE AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO HANG THE BIRDS PROPERLY. WE HAD TO GET CREATIVE TO KEEP THEM FROM FALLING OFF THE WALL! EVEN ON SALE THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look These were a little smaller than I had imagined, but I love them. They really do look like a flock of birds in flight. I took the advise of several reviewers, and used roofing nails to mount them. The holes are in just the right spots to hold them at the angle I wanted. The shadows they cast are impressive, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flying Guls Very nice quality! I wish hanging these was a little easier. I used roofing nails as suggested in other posts, despite this, they don't seem as secure as I would like.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flying Gulls I am happy with the gulls, they are exactly what I was hoping they would look like. Just disappointed in the amount of time it took to get them because of several backorders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Realistic Looking The charcoal color of the gulls seemed a bit odd, at first , but that color makes them far more noticeable when they're displayed on a neutral background. A white, or gray, color might have caused the gulls to become "lost" on a light colored wall. All five gulls have different wing configurations, so a variety of display arrangements are possible. I used roofing nails to hang the gulls. The teardrop shaped holes in the backs of the gulls are large enough to accommodate the oversize heads of roofing nails, and the larger nail heads should help to ensure that the gulls remain in place, if someone bumps into the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous, but fragile First glance: beautiful birds, wrapped well in the package. Not so much black, but a charcoal--great detail. The holes on the back are a little wonky (different size holes) and I was also worried about them falling off the screw heads and onto our tile floor. (They do not come with hardware.) You can only screw them so tight because you don't want to chip or crack the china as you slide them on. Unfortunately, as careful as I was, one fell from the wall when I was arranging them. Shattered. Fortunately, it was the bird I liked the least, as it's wings came out perpendicular to the wall so the wing effect was lost. The arrangement also looks good with 4 birds. Should these ever go on sale, I am definitely buying another set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gone to the birds I needed something over a picture to draw the eye upward toward the ceiling. The birds in flight fit the bill prefectly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flying Gulls We used the gulls to accent a picture very similar to the one used in the add. We ordered an additional set after hanging the 1st. Five gulls didn't seem like enough, maybe eight for better balance. They add a sense of dimension to our art. You can almost feel the birds motion and their freedom as they fly.

How do you hang these?

I purchased these and love them ... however, I do not understand what type of hardware I should use to hang these.

What are the dimensions, height, width, & what is the span from wall to tip of longest wing.

I an trying to decide if I can hang these in a particular area so need to know how far out the wings are from the wall, so need the height, width, and depth of the largest bird with the wing that is longest from wall to tip of wing.

Are the backs of the birds solid/flat or hollow?

I would like a flat surface for mounting purposes so that I can use the 3M products and not use nails to hang the birds.
Asked by: starhome
The Set of Five Bone China Flying Gulls are not flat and should be hung with the nails provided.
