Set of Two Battery-operated Halloween Lanterns is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from one worked, one didn't haven't had a chance to use these yet.... but did check them when they came and found that one would not light up... hoping they look ok and light up enough in the dark when we use them next halloween....the construction seems a little awkward to me as some things don't seem to fit, line up right or are slightly crooked but probably won't be very noticeable once in use. Wasn't crazy about the finish either...they look solid black in the picture but are not...kind of a smeared black on metal finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh No one will mistake these for the real thing, but they're safe, if that's the goal. They'll probably last longer than you'd like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cool laterns but paint easily scrapes off These are cool laterns in every way except for the paint. They are painted with a black-gray paint to make them look old but any type of handling could cause the paint to scrape off. I easily fixed it by taking some paint and wiping over the spots but it was surprising how easy the paint came off. I'm still glad I bought them especially at a discounted price but just want to forewarn future buyers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lanterns I have purchased many of these in the past. The one's I purchased this year were a little more flimsy and the paint looked really cheap..I got them on sale so it's worth it for the halloween decor…They need to make the light brighter and maybe with a remote so you don't have to turn all them off constantly….

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Welll I wish I had known They are constructed pretty well but the bulbs are so tiny you really don't get any light from these. The picture is far better than what you will get.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light too dim These look authentic, but the light is not bright enough. Or maybe the bulb is too small, but either way, it doesn't put out enough light for a Halloween effect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They do the job THese are not the best quality (seem cheaply made) but they are "acceptable" at the good sale price I paid. The batteries seemed to go quickly (not provided) - so I'm not sure if they suck the life out of them, or if I left one on too long one night. But overall, they added a nice touch to the 3 large Halloween posters I bought for our tree outside. I also purchased the Vintage Ghost - and was able to bend his arm enough to hold one of these lanterns - it looked great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Set of Two Battery Operated Halloween Lanterns These lanterns look very realistic and made a cute addition to my scary Halloween decor. The only two things I would change are that the glass-like globe shifts a little when you grab the top of the lantern and is difficult to realign. In addition, the batteries, though AA, seem to burn out quickly. Other than that, I am very pleased with them and plan to use them for the Christmas Holiday as well.

Are the clear parts made of glass or plastic?

I'm wondering if this is suitable for kids to carry. If they drop it will the glass break, or is it made of clear plastic?
Asked by: TwinMom
The lantern itself is very light; light enough for a child to carry. However, it is real glass and very thin. If it were dropped, yes, the glass would break.
