The back support on the barstool as well designed because it is vertical enough to actually support your lumbar spine! You do not have to buy any throw pillows or seat cushions for this furniture. We have it under cover so I cannot tell you How It stands up to our Florida sun but we certainly have gotten a lot of compliments! We also bought the love seat that is contoured for two people. It is very comfortable but I did not realize the actual seat design from the photo.
