Spike the Skeleton Dog is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully scary! This skeleton dog is so "lifelike" (as lifelike as a skeleton can be!). He is sturdy, a good size, has good color and he stands quietly. I expect him to last for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectation Purchased two different skeleton dogs from Grandin Road and both are of good quality and were precisely what I had wanted!! It would be nice to be able to return them to their boxes to store until next year, however, once they are assembled (very easy assembly, by the way), they are not "unassembleable" and therefore will not fit back in the boxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Halloween skeletons We got Spike, Sasha, and the 5 foot human skeletons. They are awesome, appear to be sturdily made (much more so than the cheaper ones at other stores), and worth the money (when they're on sale of course). We don't even have young kids but decided to decorate for the neighborhood kids. It turned out amazing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gotta love these dogs. Spike is okay. I think Sasha is a better buy for cost and looks. But if you can get it a a good price then go for it. I have seen these same exact dogs at other stores at almost twice the price. You got to love Grandinroad

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bones in Town Spike is beautiful. He adorns our front entry and everyone remarks about him. I had wanted to buy him last year, but he couldn't quite meet the budget. I am so very glad he lives at our house, outside our cemetery this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Dog! I have seen this skeleton dog in years past and thought he was absolutely adorable! I finally decided to go ahead and purchase during a Sale, and I am SO glad that I did! I am so pleased with the durability and quality, and love the rubber tail! His mouth opens which is great, so I put a bone in it for the display this year! I liked him so much, I have ordered a smaller one as well. Fantastic purchase!

Can I remove the head for storage?

How do I take the head back off for storage? Will I break it by pulling?
Asked by: Anonymous
I do not believe that the head can be successfully removed from the neck. If you still have the box, stand Spike up in the box and cover with a cloth for storage.

I cannot get this guy's head on

Based on the instructions provided I cannot figure out how to get this guys head on. I am afraid I will break it if I push too hard. Any further details you can provide?
Asked by: Anonymous
It might be a little tricky lining the head up with the neck. Look at the "hole" in the neck and look at the the piece of the head that goes into the hole. Once you are sure that you have it lined up correctly, securely hold the head and push it into the neck. If the head still refuses to be inserted in the neck the only recourse is to return the dog for a replacement.

Is this poseable?

Can you pose this dog in other ways besides the sit that it is in?
Asked by: cowboychaser
No, that's the only sitting position, you can tilt his head and open his mouth.

Can I remove his head again for storage in the shipping box?

If so, which way am I pulling his neck to release it? Thanks!
Asked by: DeanBean
Spike the Skeleton Dog can be disassembled for storage. Gently twist the head and the four legs out of their “sockets” and they will hang down as they did when the item was shipped.
