Where is the motion sensor. I have it in sensor mode but nothing ever triggers it. Also, what is the black button in the white disk for?

Is there a switch to make it operate if it is too far away to be motion activated?

Will the motion sensor activate if it is hanging outside on a window and the person walks into the room on the inside? Will it sense motion through the window?
