Are these sturdy enough to hold medium to heavy buffet dishes?
Can the plastic be antiqued? Would like them to resemble the Dover Candle Holders and not look like shiny white plastic.

Thank you for your interest in the White Pedestal Stand, Set of Three. Please note these stands are designed to hold only decorative items. The small can hold up to 37 lbs.; the medium size will hold up to 55 lbs.; and the large size will hold up to 70 lbs.
