Thank you for your interest in the Boxwood Ball Topiary. This item would work well in a 13" planter. However, we recommend measuring the inside of your planter to be sure the 9" dia. x 8"H base pot will fit.

if you live in a moderate climate with temperatures ranging from 50-70 degrees and no snow could this product be used in an uncovered area. Your photos almost exclusively show the products in an UNCOVERED area

Pleased with the large boxwood ball
We purchased 6 of the 18” balls to go into outdoor protected pots. After a few years of living boxwoods always disappointing in various stages of dying. These, attached to the pots which help anchor them nicely, were easy to work with and look good. We are pleased.👍🏼 Can’t speak to longevity.
