I've had many adjustable stools for studio use over the years. I can't seem to adjust this stool at all ----- 'does it twist to go up or down? or is it "locked" in to a height, then needs to be "unlocked" to change height? Thank you for your help!
I can now answer my own question: for whatever reason, my stool was 'locked' into the lowest height. After adding oil, and then hammering the stool legs in the direction they needed move, all is finally well: the stool swivels freely up and down, no worse for the hammer to the legs.

Has the design changed recently or is the photo deceiving? These used to have a contoured seat to match the shape of one’s rear end, but these now appear to be completely flat. The contour of the seat is what made them comfortable.

Super Comfortable and Attractive!
Love these stools! Perfect size profile (we bought 3) for our kitchen island. Super comfortable, modern without being boring. I like the wood seats as they look like the top of a wine or spirits barrel but more refined. The swivel is great and the fact that you can adjust the height is perfect. Highly recommend!
