I understand this chair comes unassembled. How many parts does it come in and how difficult is it to put together? I do not have anyone in my household who is handy with tools & usually prefer not to order anything that has to be assembled.

My New Favorite Chair
We love our new chair. It is very comfortable and rolls so smoothly and easily. Plus it looks great. It was difficult finding a chair we liked that would fit in our small space. It took awhile to get here but was certainly worth the wait. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful
I bought this chair in November 2021 but because of the supply chain issues worldwide..it arrived in June 2022. Grandin Road customer service was wonderful with the delivery updates. The chair is well made, fits perfectly in my home office and it was definitely worth the wait. It is made of leather with teak wood swivel legs and very comfortable. It is just like the picture in the catalogue. I also love the button tufting and the nail head trim. Classy.

Beautiful chair!
Just received this amazing leather office chair. Easy peezy to put together, simply slide and click together…great for this 69 year old female! No tools needed. Leather is quality, has rich color, and is soft. Love it!

A beautiful chair but requires a closer look
Let me start out by saying I really like this chair. However, I am not a person that sits at a desk all day so cannot attest to how comfortable it is hour after hour. I am retired and wanted a good looking chair for my desk at a reasonable price. It is a beautiful chair and goes very well with the dark wood and leather top of my desk. I was a bit surprised when I saw that the wheeled base is plastic! I went back to the website to look at the description again. It states under Why You’ll Love It, “Swiveling leather & teak office chair”. I was wondering where is the teak? Perhaps the seat frame? It isn’t until you read the Overview where it says, “ 5-arm, high-impact vinyl base and smooth-gliding casters make chair extra stable,” that I realized it was an oversight on my part. I kinda feel that the mention of “teak” is a little misleading. If you can’t see teak, it probably shouldn’t be mentioned as a selling point. I would have given this 5 stars for a real wood base. I love the way it looks with my desk and it’s comfortable enough for my limited use that I’m keeping it!

A French Barrel Chair Updated for the Office
The Augusto Desk Chair reminded me of the classic French Barrel Chairs one finds in a living room. However, this updated version brings the French Barrel Chair from the living room into the office.
The Augusto Desk Chair is very comfortable with its tufted leather. The nail head trim is embossed on the leather trim. The chair comes unassembled. and nothing in the catalog description indicates that assembly is required.
Overall I am very pleased with the Augusto Desk Chair.

Wanted to like it

The to of the chair is beautiful but the base is cheap plastic How disappointing. will try and put my old chair bottom on the base. makes whole thing look cheap.

Desk chair
It was a gift for my husband. I liked it because it matched the desk. Unfortunately, the chair after unwrapping quickly 'lost' its color (there was a power residue on the chair) and I had to ask for a replacement. Thanks to the customer service, we received a new chair and shipped back the previous one. Overall, it was a lot of work that stole from our joy of having a nice-looking chair.

Augusta Chair
I have always had good experiences w grandiroad but with this piece of furniture this chair is nice looking but within a week it has stretched open in the back seam from seat should not fall apart that quick was so sorry to see if my husband had not used I would have sent back but he did not want to return with the hassle So unfortunately I can not recommend but I have loved all your other products first time not happy w this beautiful chair just not made well Mrs Kageler

At best a three star.
I ordered this chair in September of 2021. I got it in May of 2022. The seat part looks fine and is made well but the base was scratched from shipping. My thought was that's not a big deal, I can fix the scratches with a wood pen. The problem is that the base is made of plastic. I got on the chat and told them I needed a replacement base but they would have to return the whole chair because they dont have the parts for replacement. I dont want to do that because they cant guarantee when I will get another chair. The nice chat lady told me she would send a request and have someone contact me to see if there is anything different they can do. We will see if that happens. A plastic base is NOT acceptable for such an expensive chair.

Augusto Desk Chair
The construction, quality and appearance of the chair are excellent.
However, the seat is much too soft. A firmer seat is a necessity for those of us who spend long times at their desks.
Any suggestions for an add-on pad I can buy to firm up the seat?

poor leather
The Augusto desk chair was delivered on Oct. 5, 23. I am a small person (114#'s) and the color in the leather seems to be rubbing off. The leather on the seat is very stiff not supple.

Nice looking but not comfortable.
Nice leather and fairly well-made, but quite uncomfortable seat. The base is plastic, not wood, but I expected that. Easy to put together, but impossible to take apart to return. I saved ALL of the packing material and the huge box. The assembled chair does not fit. We are going to try to sell it at a local consignment store.

Customers Deserve Better from
Horrible Damage Issues
This is not a review for the chair itself because, unfortunately, after three separate shipments I still do not have the chair. I received the first chair and it was damaged on the base. I returned that chair (they made me take it to the shipper) and when I got the replacement it was the exact same chair, with the exact same damage, that I had returned. I called customer service a second time and was assured that they would immediately send me a replacement to guarantee I would not get the same chair. But when the third chair arrived it appeared to have the exact same damage as the first. I'm not sure if this time its just an issue with that kind of damage because the third chair was in a new box whereas the second was in the same box I originally received. In any event, other than agreeing to allow me to exchange the chair, Grandinroad has done nothing to compensate me for the severe inconvenience this has caused and nothing to ensure that it won't happen again. In addition to the three chairs I have had to return two other items that I received damaged from Grandinroad in the last month. Again, Grandinroad did nothing to compensate me for the inconvenience.

Great as a Decoration, Not for Use
My wife bought two of these chairs on sale, one for the kid's study area and one for my office. The one the kids used broke within 3 months, and I got on their case for being rough with and breaking it. Then 3 months later, I had to use the one in my office while awaiting a new office chair and IT BROKE THE EXACT SAME WAY!
I took it apart in a vain attempt to fix it, the materials are very cheap and poorly made. I really wish we hadn't bought these, they look nice but boy howdy they are simply not designed for consistent use.
I cry for anyone who was ripped off paying the full price for these.

Poor Quality for the Price
After waiting over 8 months for this chair I was fairly pleased with what I received. However looks can be deceiving. The undercarriage of this chair is poorly constructed with the supports coming apart after use. Do yourself a favor and avoid this chair unless, you don’t plan on sitting on it.

Conflicted after 45+ days of use
I love the Augusto collection. I have the Augusto Chairs and wanted to add the Desk Chair to outfit my office with the same style I have in my office. This chair, while beautiful leather and comfortable, is unstable. Perhaps I got a bad chair, however, it feels very wobbly and it almost feels like the metal plate underneath which holds the seat on is scraping the wooden rails. Something is not right. For the price I paid, I have decided to contact customer service tomorrow. Again, love the style and overall look of the chair, but it feels like this chair is about to fall apart.

Tilts in strange ways
Bought in August. The packing was great and setup a breeze, but I had several problems with delivery and poor communication with G.R. and their delivery service. Chair was great for first few weeks, now the seat tilts to either side about 30 degrees if I lean. Very weird. When I flipped it upside down, I can feel that two pieces of the cross-frame that the seat is connected to are movable, not rigid/connected to the base the way they should be. This cannot be fixed, as the frame is hidden beneath fabric. Not sure if my chair is broken or if this is a feature, but.....it's not comfortable.

Just horrible
The quality of this chair is not what I would expect from this company and especially at this price. First chair never showed up, they couldn’t track it, so waited again for a new one to arrive and when it showed up it looked like it was someone’s return. Scratches on base and a cut in the back of the leather that was obvious someone tried to do a snooty repair on. Now I’m just going to be looking elsewhere for an office chair.

Received a chair that appeared to be a return.
The chair itself is okay. However, the packaging was not. The chair arrived and was scratched on several places on the base and the leather appeared dry due to the wrapping or long storage in the box. The wheels looked used or worn. I assume the chair I received was one that had been returned. Very disappointed. It would be great to have a brand new one that had never been opened.
